I have great respect for retired Navy Captain Mike Kelly’s service to this nation. I also admire the courage of Democratic Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords. See Thursday’s post, “God bless you, Gabrielle Giffords.” But I find Captain Kelly’s tactics for selling his new book to be insulting , misleading and plain out wrong. More than that it is disturbingly dishonorable.

But it was the lack of any contact from former Alaskan Governor Sarah Palin that was ‘surprising’ said Mr Kelly.
Citing the book, Mr Morgan said that it revealed some ‘interesting insights’ into ‘political colleagues and people that [Gabby Giffords] had worked for and against.’
Speaking about a map for which Palin was responsible, with crosshairs over certain states including Arizona, Mr Morgan said that the Alaskan ‘doesn’t come out of this very well, I don’t think, because there was a woman who at the time had been putting these crosshair things on her website and stuff, including Gabby,’ he said.
Sarah Palin’s map had nothing to do with the attempted assassination of Congresswoman Giffords. The man who shot her knew nothing of the map and had stalked the captain’s wife for 3 years prior to the shooting that left 6 people dead.
What a disgusting thing to do — and Piers Morgan’s failure to challenge Captain Kelly on this misinformation is appalling but not surprising.
One more day. One more lie. Captain Kelly should apologize privately and publicly to Missus Palin for perpetuating this fallacy.
Gifford, sadly, won't be able to run again. She still has a long way to go. But they'll delay the decision until the last possible moment...to freeze out any possible Democrat who wants to run..and then, just before the filing deadline..HE will announce that she can't run, but he's running in her place..
Take it to the bank..and that explains why he's makign these comments now..

I agree. He’s in pre-campaign mode. His campaign. Watch for him to officially change his residence to Arizona before the filing deadline (the month of May, I believe.)
Sadly, once they achieve 0-4 promotion; it is no longer about anything except the next promotion. The military no longer trains leaders, they train politicians.
The enlisted are more concerned about the Constitution than their lacky leadership.
The U.S. is not alone in this. Look at the new government in Egypt.

The proof is in the pudding. Just take a gander on Amazon.com and check the sales of the “Mike Kelly” book about his wife “Gabby”. Going nowhere but. down, down, down!!! And...ditto for Piers Morgan!!! No one watches his show, period!!! Sadly fate placed Mr. Giffords in staggering harms way last January. A pure and simple insane individual did harmful damage to the Congresswoman. Of course, Obama. “dirt bag” that he is, the Democrat Party and...this disgrace to his country and NASA, Mike Kelly have all tired to make political hay or cash from the congresswoman’s horrible misfortune!!! Gabby Giffords, it is quite obvious, cannot ever, efectively represent her district in congress. The poor woman should resign, take her government pension and retire, working to put her life back into meaningful purpose for her well being!!! IMHO, she has not chosen a good shepard in her husband and partner, Mke Kelly!!! Mr. Kelly is more concerned with and about himself, then he is about Gabby;s welfare and recovery!!! He is a classic people user and self-centered person!!! I pray for Gabby Giffords, even though I cannot stand her politics, but she was in the wrong place and the wrong time which was not her fault whatsoever. If I were her hubby, I would be saying, come on, baby, it’s you and me and our loved ones. Let’s do the best we can to get our act together and just live for one another and our families and loved ones!!! Now that would be true love and devotion!!! However, I do not think Mr. Kelly is capable of that kind of love, political and self-centered animal he is!!!
