I truly believe this Occupy thing is just a distraction..
This is all orchestrated to shift blame for Obamas bad economic policy numbers. Evil Wall Street gives him someone or something as you will, to run against in the next election.
“So they’re going to use this Scott Olsen like Cindy Sheehan used her son’s corpse”
That’s not the primary thrust of this piece. If I had the energy I’d research the numbers and make an effort to refute the suppositions in the piece, but someone with more patience and better access to data should make an effort to refute the focus of the review and Piven’s book.Ideas, even wrong ones, are defeated by stronger better ideas, supported by facts.
You’ve got it.
“Occupy Wall Street, which has already changed the national conversation, may well be its beginning.”
If people identify OWS with the poor, they will learn to hate the poor. Most Americans regard OWS as a bad joke that won’t go away. It is a reflection of Obama’s America, and no one in their right mind wants it.
“Domestically, its been a war against the poor,”
I stopped reading right there. What a load of “equestrian feces”.
I am so sick of having the American (not) poor thrown in my face every 5 seconds, by every jackwagon that believes they have more rights to my money than I do.
I have spent a lot of my life below what was officially listed as the poverty level, and I have a 55” LED TV, a 47” LCD TV, 2 computers, Multiple guns, a couple thousand dollars worth of camera equipment..., I could go on but the point is, people in this country have no idea what real “poverty” is. As far as I’m concerned these “poverty pimps” like this author, can go pound sand. They have used up all their empathy, and sympathy quota thanks to the a$$ wipe in the WH.
