The wife and I considered moving to Asheville about 20 years ago because it was a pretty mountain town with an interesting mix of people and a fairly healthy economy. From what I’ve seen in the past few years, I’m very glad we decided against it.
The good news on Asheville is now they are in a liberal district so the lib vote will be a waste(no more shuler).The areas surrounding the city plus half the people living in Buncombe County are conservative.
