Raising Cain!
The Silent Majority ^ | 10-14-11 | J.D. Longstreet

Posted on 10/14/2011 5:52:28 AM PDT by Lexluthor69

Surprise, surprise! Herman Cain has risen to at least a tie for the number one slot amongst the candidates for the GOP nomination for President. It seems everyone is surprised – but Herman Cain.

So – what the heck is going on here?

Here’s what I THINK is happening:

REAL conservatives within the republican ranks are in near rebellion. They actually LIKE Herman Cain and they actually LIKE his platform. But that is only a part of the story here… in my opinion.

Conservative republicans have made no secret of the fact that they do not want Romney as the GOP candidate for President. That puts them at direct odds with the GOP and the RNC.

See, Romney was supposed to be the GOP candidate this time round. I the time honored fashion of the Republican Party, it is Romney’s turn. Never mind that he has very little chance of actually beating Obama in a head to head race for the Oval Office, the GOP made its decision that Romney would be the candidate long ago. They made a very serious mistake. They didn’t ask the grassroots conservatives in the parry how they felt about it. Had they done so, the republican field of candidates would be very different than it is today.

I catch a lot of flak concerning my insistence that Obama stands a better than even chance of winning four more years in the Presidency. In fact, I believe there is every reason to believe that he WILL win another term even with all the problems the country has today… many of which can be traced directly to his inadequacy as a leader on the national and international stage.

Never, ever, underestimate the democrat’s election machine and their willingness to do whatever it takes to win

Why would conservatives vote for another inexperienced black man for president?

To call Herman cain "inexperienced" is laughable and discredits everything else this author, who hides behind a pseudonym, says.

“Why would conservatives vote for another inexperienced black man for president?”

It is the height of mendacity and it is abjectly dishonorable to ignore the very obvious, practical and professional differences between Herman Cain and “O”.

Splitting the conservative vote between Bachmann, Gingrich, Santorum and Perry will allow Romney to win the nomination over Cain. That’s his strategy and, unless some of these candidates who haven’t got a chance withdraws, Romney will end up stealing the nomination and give Obama another four years.

J.D. Longstreet basically states that (a) conservative Republicans are sick of the ‘establishment’ choosing our candidate for us - always a semi-liberal - and, (b) that if Romney is the GOP nominee, conservatives will stay home on election day, ensuring an Obama victory and the havoc that will cause in America. He may have a point. Mr. Longstreet likes Herman Cain - and so do I.

I've been saying this for a long time. If republicans want to win, they need to nominate a conservative. If they nominate a lib-lite (again!), they have no one to blame for their loss but themselves.

I think 9-9-9 is a good starting point for discussion about tax reform. but I do have big problems with it. Personally I much prefer a repeal of the 16th Amendment, and then a national sales tax.

If people want a national sales tax to be more “progressive,” then perhaps we could have a program where people under a certain income level can apply for a partial rebate. But if they want the rebate, they should have to fill out a financial statement to prove they qualify.

As for everybody else, April 15 just becomes another day. The government can stop collecting personal financial data from us, and people will no longer be forced to sign a government-required financial statement under penalty of perjury, which is itself a violation of the 5th amendment ( regardless of what some liberal court says.)

9-9-9 may sound OK under a conservative president and congress, but how many years will it be before a “progressive” president and congress make it 30-30-30?

I am definitely supporting Cain in the primary, but I think this 9-9-9 thing needs a lot of work under a conservative Republican congress before I would support it.

999 gets us to flat tax where everybody pays. Call it what you want but the current tax code breeds corruption.

I would like him much more if he went to a tax simplification stance instead of 999. Also, he needs to beef up his foreign policy knowledge. He’s got my vote. No to Mitt or Rick.

Why would conservatives vote for another inexperienced black man for president?

Ans: Because voting for slick, professional politicians has worked so well for us up to this point.

The nitwits for mitt the twit and "would you like some whine with your cheese" Perry need to seriously ask themselves whether they want someone who puts the Constitution and the Republic first or someone who puts his political power and position first and will say or do anything to keep it. Cain has the experience without the political "gentlemen, we have to save our phoney-baloney jobs" attitude that is screwing this country.

A) The author needs an editor/proofreader.

B) What’s with the (semi) porn at the bottom of the article?

C) Other than that, the author made some very good points.

Now we wait for establishment republicans to undermine the Cain campaign and make sure Romney regains the top spot in the polls. You can be sure the heat will be on Mr. Cain and it will increase in intensity in the immediate future.

That calls for a warning to the Romney campaign. Whether conservatives go to the polls and cast a ballot in November or stay at home disgusted, may very well depend upon the Romney campaign’s efforts to discredit and/or destroy Herman Cain’s campaign.

RLY? CALLS FOR A WARNING TO GOP & ROMNEY?

CAIN supporters must show their support NOW!

Write letters to editors, post on blogs, write and make call to advertisers of cable news and alphabets that slam Cain or host folks who call him a racist or Oreo.

And defeat Romney in the early primary states!

I'm not on the Cain train, yet. I'm still open to all our conservatives, but by God, he is a GOOD man, and I can personally attest to one fact: Herman Cain is one of us!

Why vote for Herman Cain, well for one reason unlike Mitt and Rick the media and the elites of both parties are scared to death of a Cain win and this is why:

Herman Cain who truly was until recently a virtual unknown had faith enough in himself to decide to run for President of the United States on his own. There was no Media hype/pressure/build-up about a possible run, there was no urging by members of the Party, no words spoken into his ear by party players, elites, beltway boys or pundits, not even a word of encouragement from the Republican Party of his home state only faith in himself. Now after months of being treated as being a inconsequential candidate the curious sideshow of a conservative black Republican, he is now in the top tier along with people of great party pull, of men with experienced political machines and the dollars to power them. He did that on his own with no help from anyone accept by his own. Now think what a man with faith in himself like that could accomplish if given the chance.

Now many are saying Cain hasn’t a chance with his little formal organization and even less money.

Well let me remind all of you of what a recent movement did with no formal organization and even less money, The Tea Party.

The Tea Party manage with both those weakness to go on and seriously change the political landscape and in doing so caused the Leftist members of govenment, ellitist of both political parties and media types to quake in fear of them and their rath and all done with only a minimum of formal organization and on a ‘shoe string’ budget.

That’s what sucessful AMERICANS do, what they have always done! It’s what makes us WINNERS! They start out with what they have and they MAKE IT WORK! They make it work because what they don’t have in manpower or money they make-up with brains, sweat, blood and last but most important faith.
