Rick Perry did NOT pick Jeffress to introduce him.

Fair enough, and thank you for your answer. A couple of things you say I find a concern - others not so much, but politics is still about people.
I really appreciate you taking the time to answer!

I’m happy that you asked.

We all really need to do our due diligence as 2012 grows closer. We just cannot afford to allow Ubama to be re-elected and at the same time make certain that we are putting the very best candidate forward to become our next president. There is just too damned much at state to risk letting someone that’s not quite up to the task ahead. We have to get this right. We owe it to our future generations.

I never attacked Perry, I knew it was the other guy. That said, if Perry agrees with the Pastor, which the article states he does, why is he backwalking from him?

The Pastor spoke the truth, Mormonism isn’t Christian. I know that from first hand experience.

It was a yellow journalism smear piece plain and simple. This had nothing to do with the campaign.

You do know what the definition of yellow journalism is right?

___________________________________________________________

American Heritage Dictionary:
yellow journalism

n.
Journalism that exploits, distorts, or exaggerates the news to create sensations and attract readers.

[From the use of yellow ink in printing “Yellow Kid,” a cartoon strip in the a newspaper noted for sensationalism.]

Dictionary of Cultural Literacy: History:
yellow journalism

Top
Inflammatory, irresponsible reporting by newspapers. The phrase arose during the 1890s, when some American newspapers, particularly those run by William Randolph Hearst, worked to incite hatred of Spain, thereby contributing to the start of the Spanish-American War. Newspapers that practice yellow journalism are called yellow press.

I have plenty of other reasons to disagree with Perry on. Same applies to Romney.

Being a Mormon should not enter into it, since being a Muzzie (much worse in my opinion) hasn’t been a problem for Ubama.

’ - - - - -
LDS founder Joseph Smith and early LDS apostle Parley Pratt would disagree with you...

In the heat of the Missouri “Mormon War” of 1838, Joseph Smith made the following claim, “I will be to this generation a second Mohammed, whose motto in treating for peace was ‘the Alcoran [Koran] or the Sword.’ So shall it eventually be with us—‘Joseph Smith or the Sword!’ - Joseph Smith

“The Greek and Roman Churches, which have been called Christian, and which take the name of Christians as a cloak, have worshipped innumerable idols. On this account, on the simple subject of the Deity and His worship, if nothing more, I should rather incline, of the two, after all my early traditions, education, and prejudices, to the side of Mahomet, for on this point he is on the side of truth, and the Christian world on the side of idolatry and heathenism.”
- Apostle Parley P. Pratt, Journal of Discourses, Vol. 3, p.38
“..instead of saying that Mahometanism prevailed against Christianity, and that Christianity was in danger of being done away by its prevalence, we would rather say, that where Mahometanism prevailed, it taught and established one truth at least, viz., the true and living God, and so far as this went, it did preserve people from worshipping idols. And had the crescent waved on the tower of London, or on the church of St. Paul, instead of the cross, and had the Mahometan religion been enforced instead of the Roman religion that was enforced for a series of generations, and had tradition riveted what the sword enforced, then that nation and the surrounding nations would have been worshippers of one true God instead of idols; they would have recognized it in theory at least, whether they would have worshipped Him in spirit and in truth or not. But now [Christians] do not recognize Him in theory, for they acknowledge as their god an imaginary being without body, parts, or passions.”
- Apostle Parley P. Pratt, Journal of Discourses, Vol. 3, p.39
“Now, if we take Mahometanism during those dark ages, and the corruptions that are so universally prevalent over the earth, and the idolatrous systems of religion, falsely called Christianity, and weigh them in a balance; with all my education in favor of Christian nations and Christian powers, and Christian institutions, so called, with all my prejudices of early youth, and habits of thought and reading, my rational faculties would compel me to admit that the Mahometan history and Mahometan doctrine was a standard raised against the most corrupt and abominable idolatry that over perverted our earth, found in the creeds and worship of Christians, falsely so named.”
- Apostle Parley P. Pratt, Journal of Discourses, Vol. 3, p.40
“Though Mahometan institutions are corrupt enough, and need reforming by the Gospel, I am inclined to think, upon the whole, leaving out the corruptions of men in high places among them, that they have better morals and better institutions than many Christian nations; and in many localities there have been high standards of morals. So far as that one point is concerned, of worshipping the one true God under the name of Mahometanism, together with many moral precepts, and in war only acting on the defensive, I think they have exceeded in righteousness and truthfulness of religion, the idolatrous and corrupt church that has borne the name of Christianity.”

- Apostle Parley P. Pratt, Journal of Discourses, Vol. 3, p.41

As a Christian, and an ex-Mormon, I could never vote for a Mormon. I know too much to ever do so.

I see your point.

On the other hand, I have yet to see a Mormon strapping on a belt bomb or vest, start screaming “Allah Akbar” and blowing himself and a throng of innocents to bits.

Have you?

Amen...but it does show that Perry’s campaign is not nearly as well-oiled as he wants us to believe.

Unless they ran the convention, what would you expect from Perry's campaign?

Your statement makes no sense.

Anyone that participated in this, including Jeffress are evil despicable people.

Also, I would bet that a Mormon president would be more likely to side in with Muslims than Christians. Even in Haiti, the LDS church allied with Muslim charities instead of Christian ones. It is a valid question to ask ‘why?’ and be concerned.

I have 2 TV’s and never turn them on just because of the constant left leaning BS and lies. Life is good without watching TV.

I got ya, brother.

To me it really doesn’t matter at all.

My efforts are to see to it that neither Romney or Perry get through the nomination to begin with.

I am steadfastly supporting Herman Cain.

You’re right and I’ve found that there is a certain clarity that starts; maybe it’s the ‘purge’ after having watched TV for years.

Just fine although now I’m looking to get Satellite radio so I can get 24/7 news. Can’t get that on standard radio.

You and I have clashed however, I believe we’ve moved past that so let me ask you something, how was the forum during the Bush Campaign..? Did it tear it apart then? Be interested to hear your take.

TIA

“Unless they ran the convention, what would you expect from Perry’s campaign?”

If they don’t have a say in who introduces Perry, he shouldn’t be there....and I’m SURE they will know exactly who introduces Perry from now on. It was just an amateurish mistake by a campaign that just isn’t living up to its hype.

“Your statement makes no sense. “
You know, I hear those exact words a lot now...seems orchestrated, and far from a coincidence.

Are we becoming so pc that we cannot consider a candidate’s religion on whether or not we would vote for him/her? I think this has become a slippery slope for USA, a Judeo-Christian nation.
