Thanks for your thoughtful reply. There is another option other than use of the famous “peace maker” to your quote “ - - -We are ONLY going to get a Constitutional Amendment to outlaw any federal association with health care by enacting it ourselves - - - ) , and that is a Constitutional Convention.

It is long, tedious and problematic, ( as it should be ), because it must be approved by a certain % of States. The Libs will cry because while the Constitutional Convention is going on, (it will take many years to complete), “Nothing is getting done in Washington! You terrible people are just trying to shut down THE GOVERNMENT! “ To which I say: Yep, deal with it!

In my humble, but ALWAYS correct opinion, if Cain does not get this country turning to the right, ( to use an oil patch term), in his first year, the Constitutional Convention movement will begin in his second year. The rest of the field of candidates lack the brains to avoid being distracted from the main goal of the US President: LEAD US OUT OF THE VALLEY OF DEBT!

To do that effectively, Cain will need Titanium-spined Senators who share his goals. If you know someone in ANY State that fits the bill, just remind him/her of the many shameless pervs. who are abundant in the Debtocrat Party in the US Congress.

Any skeleton that he/she might have couldn’t be any worse that those of the Debtocrats whose salaries and benefits you and I now pay for every April 15 th.

IDEALLY, a Constitutional Convention would probably be a good solution. REALISTICALLY, I don’t see it happening because there are stubborn conservatives (such as myself) who are too afraid that a new Constitutional Convention would grant too many tinkerers the ability to mess with something that, in its original form, has few flaws.

I agree that I jump to the “peacemaker” (I LIKE that term, BTW) option too often, but only because I see what the mini-minds that we have elected to the Congress have done with our cherished Constitution. It is a sad comment on the state of American education that the Founders had to leave the maintenance of the Constitution to those with lesser abilities and more evil intent. The mini-minds have written many laws in a way that make it difficult (if not impossible) to repeal or alter via the democratic process.

Which, IMO, essentilly leaves us with two options - 1) re-take our government by force, adjourn the Congress and make a few minor “tweaks” to the Constitution to prevent the mini-minds from creating the same havoc in the future as they have today. Then we hold new elections barring EVERYONE who has ever served in ANY elected position from EVER running and try starting over.

I don’t see that as being very realistic, however, and it leaves us open to attack by anarchists. 2) Slightly more realistic (but, not by much) is to divide America into two parts - the Liberal America and the Conservative America. Liberals would be required to live in their socialist paradise for a minimum of 10 years before the conservatives could EVER consider allowing them to come to our side. This (BTW) would be a physical division of the nation, NOT just a conceptual one. The liberals are doing everything they can to drive a politial wedge between themselves and conservatives and have (with DBM complicity) succeeded in making “conservative” a dirty word. So, IMO, a schism based on political idealogy is pretty much a foregone conclusion. IF or when such a schism should occur, we conservatives could restore the Constitution to our liking and the liberals could do whatever they wanted with their socialist paradise.

It is intersting to note that a recent article in the Canada Free Press (mentioned by Rush Limbaugh) has an author suggesting that Obama will suspend elections next year so that he won’t have to face the landslide defeat that is surely headed his way. This cat was also let out of the bag with Gov. Bev Perdue’s recent odd comment at the Rotary Club address and is now slowly being parroted by other Dem mouthpieces, signalling what they might be planning. In other words, they are “socializing” the idea by telling us what they are planning! If we aren’t prepared for this, we will tacitly submit and bow down before our god, BHO (shudder!). I don’t know how much credence to lend to this idea, but it is definitely something we need to think about and plan for.
