I actually like the fact that some wilderness is preserved but agree that it shouldn’t be the feds that do it. It should also be noted that both state and federal land ownership is growing and shouldn’t be.
Right near me, my broke ass state (michigan) is blowing some $3 million dollars for 2000 acres for public hunting land. That’s 2000 acres forever removed from the tax base. I like the inclusion of 2000 acres of roaming land but we can’t afford it.
All complaints aside, I’ve found that Michigan state parks and forests are more to my liking than our national parks.
