The article’s statement that Kerry didn’t pay taxes on his income is somewhat misleading. It is a disservice to the credibility of PajamasMedia.

I was incredulous about this because the relative magnitudes of the numbers cited in the article seemed amiss. John Fn’ Kerry certainly had investment income greater than $4 million on his 1.2 billion net worth. If one bothers to check out the report linked by the article, it’s obvious that the $4 million is derived from tax-exempt municipal bonds. There is absolutely nothing wrong about availing oneself to the tax exemption from interest paid on municipal bonds, even if it is done by a weasel like John Fn’ Kerry.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with pointing out that a guy who thinks people don't pay enough in taxes didn't pay a penny on $4 million in income.

Nothing prevents Kerry from making non-tax exempt investments. If he was a real patriot he would GM's bonds, right?

At least according to Kerry.
