Personally, I say prayers that day for the victims, their families and for the 9/11 first responders who lost their lives and the ones alive suffering from disease/serious conditions. I refuse to go out and clean up a park or whatever. That is meaningless to me. I also educate my two youngest (11 and 5) why that day is a day for prayer and remembering. The significance of the event and what impact it made on Our Country and lives. That is my service.

The whole “day of service” thing is an attempt to get us to forget what happened so we lose our resolve to uphold freedom. As Obama’s agenda to destroy this country and everything it stands for becomes more clear, so does the attempt to write off the memory of 9-11, so that more and more people are seeing reality for the first time, IMHO.

If they put up a mosque or Islamic anything in the area of the attack, the area right next to the mosque - preferably downwind - should be bought and turned into a swine farm. If they want a symbol of America’s “tolerance”, that combination would just about do it. They can have their victory mosque but can only get to it by walking through the stench of swine manure.
