Over the past couple of months Rick Perry has been considering a run for POTUS. As of Saturday, August 13, hes in with both feet.
Since hes been Governor of Texas for over ten years, folks from the other 56 states are asking Texans what kind of governor hes been and what we think. I decided that what I think isnt good enough I could be wrong. So, I decided to do some research on Perrys record and form a more accurate, fact-based opinion on his qualifications instead of relying on my general perceptions.
In the spirit of full disclosure, I voted for Perry in each of the three gubernatorial elections since 2002 and I am a conservative and a registered Republican. It was easy for me to vote for Perry since the alternative(s) were either uber-RINOs in the primaries or liberal Democrats in the general elections. Under the circumstances, my choice was always easy.
While researching Perrys pros and cons, Ive read every article and blog post that I could find over several weeks. Many of those posts had 2-300 comments associated with them I read them all.
After reading literally thousands of comments, its become apparent that there are quite a lot of anti-Perry activists out there throwing all sorts of disparaging rhetorical crap against the wall in hopes that some will stick and they can influence someone, anyone, to become anti-Perry too. The unfortunate thing is that most of their negative statements are either completely false, at worst, or misleading, at best.

This post is the link you ask me about on Gardasil.
Thanks. Good source of info; both pro and con.
What??? Only 17?
I am so sick of this already.
Hi shield.
I’m glad to pass this list of articles along so others can do their homework. It doesn’t seem to help unless they do the research themselves — as I’ve found — either they want to know or they don’t.

I saved the article and will review it.
However, I have this to say about Perry. He speaks and sounds like W. Too easy for the libs to pick up on.
Also, when he stood on the hay bale at Ames the other day, he comes across with his posture as if he’s saying “I’ve got the biggest d*** here!”
I find him offputting.
Thanks. Those that do not like Perry are using some real garbage by what the left has put out. Some folks are serious who want the truth instead of all this negative spin. This is a good article that is well balanced well researched and it’s for those actually seeking truth. And MAYBE a few of the anti-Perry haters will wake up to the truth.
Read everything on the first page and will read the other link later (have to go to work).
He is right and very accurate. Common Sense and Facts.
It was refreshing to read something about Perry that is not made up, spun or details left out.
Kudos shield for posting that link.
The Bush clan tried to stop Perry when he ran for Lt. Governor from being so mean, negative against his opponent...Perry would not...and that is what started the Texas Feud...
Great article shield. Thanks
This will be passed along many times.
Me too, can't wait to vote for obama, he's not "offpudding".
You are welcome. FINALLY...some well researched truth on Perry.
I can't get too upset about the Gardasil because mandatory school vaccinations have been common in this country since the 1950's. I can understand the controversy, but if we are to continue sending our children to the socialized school system, health protections are necessary, and Perry's explanation that he wanted to reduce its cost are plausible.
The Trans-Texas Corridor was a staple of discussion at FR for a couple years. Now, since I don't believe that an American Union was ever really in the offing, I see the TTC only as the type of big infrastructure project everyone would have applauded 50 years ago (think Interstate Highways).
Thanks again. These are important issues and this was a reasoned article.
graphics please...LOL
Good work finding and posting this link;) Thank you.
Facts are a treasure these days when it comes to Perry. No spin in this well researched article.
Perry is NOT my first choice, Herman Cain is - GO HERMAN! But I dislike the attacks against him in general and Texas in particular.
Herman Cain unfortunately is having huge financial problems. You got to pay people to keep people.
The author touches on most of the issues and gives both sides, but then appears to be an apologist for Perry.
As a well-informed Texan who has voted for Perry for years and knows the issues, I assure you that there are both inaccuracies and missing facts in this article.
Probably written by Perry staff and, if so, good move.
