Not only that, he/she's in the DC area. Notice how he says he "ordered" a Volt. Didn't the Feds buy a bunch of these things? Even if he did pay for it himself, what do you want to bet he's a government employee/contractor and plugging the car in at work every day, which means we're paying for him to "go green."
To be fair to the electric car concept, it's not a fundamentally bad idea. It's the implementation that is flawed, and not even because of the GM engineers but simply because it's still early in the evolution of this product. Perhaps in a decade it will be worth considering (and I'll consider Ford, Honda, Toyota, or anyone that has not been involved in a corrupt nationalization process like GM/Chrysler), but for now, it's just not ready for market.
If anyone I knew bought a GM/Chrysler product, I would think less of them. Socialism is wrong. Grade theft is wrong. Stiffing the bondholders was wrong. Forcing taxpayers to pay for GM's losses was wrong. Contributing to the survival of a corrupt company is wrong. I will not be a part of that corruption, hence, even if they upgraded the Volt to where it was worth owning and cut the price in half, I still would not buy it. At the current price though, I would not buy the Volt even from an honest company.
