So, a "problem drinker" likes to drink and does not want to stop, even though it threatens his health, his family, and most of those he comes in contact with.
So he goes to an AA meeting "undercover" to expose the "lie" that God never intended for people to be perpetualy drunk, wrecking cars and getting in bar fights, etc.
And he comes away with audio of "alco-phobics" denigrating his chosen lifestyle of drunkeness - the major networks have a scoop - woe to those bigoted "alco-phobics", how dare they.....
So he is vindicated - his drinking isn't the problem, it's those intolerant alco-phobics.

Not a perfect analogy, but if someone who likes to partake in sodomy chooses not to sodomize "one day at a time", why is that a bad thing?

The analogy as far as the left is concerned would be a black man goes into a clinic depressed because he's black and the counselor suggests he paint himself white.

Ridiculous? Yes indeed but its how they want us to look at it.
