HOUSTON (FOX-Houston) - Local veterans say the Department of Veterans Affairs is consistently censoring their prayers, banning them from saying the words "God," and "Jesus" during funeral services at Houston National Cemetery.
Three separate organizations have come forward complaining the cemetery's director and other government officials are violating the First Amendment. Members from the Veterans of Foreign Wars, The American Legion and the National Memorial Ladies all complain of "religious hostility" at the cemetery.
On Tuesday they told a federal judge what's been going on there.
"People are doing things out there that I feel like they shouldn't be," said Jim Rodgers, a Vietnam veteran.
"We are private citizens in a private organization, and yet we are restricted from saying what our ritual calls for," said John Spahr, Veterans of Foreign Wars.

I did a search under Dept of veterans affairs and didn’t see it posted! Yours has a different title, BUT, I’m glad you were on it yesterday and think we need to keep this story going because christians are being thrown to the lions once again.
Well, congratulations to all of you out there who pulled the lever for all these socialists who are going to save humanity.
And, to all those “Independents” who get their kicks out of thinking they’re brilliant when they move left, congratulation to you too. Now, you’re going to have to put your brilliance to the test in order to figure out how your brilliance got us into the pickle we’re in.

Can not imagine this. I an a participating volunteer at funerals for veterans at a National Cemetery in Pennsylvania and have NEVER seen a problem with funerals conducted there. We pray all the time, the families pray, vaarious supporting groups pray..
I’m a bit confused by this article. Internment ceremonies at national cemeteries are private affairs, no part of them is subject to the cemetery management (other than scheduling and plot space). So, how on Earth can the proceedings be censored??

My earlier point was: unless somebody in the private group having a burial service invites the $#%! cemetery director to the ceremony, how is he/she/it going to find out what is said there?
