During the Lewinski fight, one of the dems primary comebacks was about the same as yours. “Republicans are just JEALOUS” (because Bill gets laid).
I thought then this sort of thinking was smug and petty. (And I still do). But it did give them an out from having to actually think about the jeopardy in which he had placed himself.
And now Rasmussen just this week released a poll that confirmed what today’s “jealous” lady said.
“The internals dont look good for Palin in this instance. In almost all demographics, opposition to a primary bid outstrips support. Among men, its a 42/42 tie, but among women, its a double-digit deficit at 28/49.”
But like the Clintonites of 1998, if dismissing these as “jealous” lets you avoid thinking about the political realities, fine. I don’t think this meme does Sarah’s political prospects much good though. The harder and more snidely it is pushed, the harder the pushback will be. But I’ve noted before some of Sarah’s worst enemies think they’re her best friends.
And two hours for that?
Clinton's defenders said his detractors are jealous, and he won politically.
So you're saying Sarah's fans calling her detractor's jealous means...she is destined to LOSE politically?
And you're doing apples and oranges.
In Clinton's case, he committed a number of felonies, including rape, perjury, subornation of perjury, even if he wasn't prosecuted.
Palin was FALSELY accused and acquitted, and like Obi-Wan, is coming back stronger than Dems can imagine.
Where are the nationwide enthusiastic crowds for Geraldine Ferraro's book tours? Or for Dan Quayle's?
And neither of them had to face even 10% of the concentrated HATE from all sides that Palin has actually overcome.
Cheers!
