Boston Bruins' Nathan Horton hoists the Stanley Cup after his team defeated the Vancouver Canucks in Game 7 to win the NHL Stanley Cup hockey playoff in Vancouver, British Columbia June 15, 2011.
Was Horton's injury the turning point of the series?
Could be...asked about it, Rome said he didn’t want to see anybody get hurt but if he had to do it again, he would.
One of the Canucks was injured at the start of game 6, I think; he will be out awhile and they put him in the stands to whip up the crowd, a la Horton appearing at the Garden. It didn’t work.
Rome was suspended for 4 games, i.e. the rest of the series. Horton was unable to play after the hit. How’s Rome feeling today, as the B’s celebrate and Vanc. streets turn violent in the People’s Republic of Canuckistan?
Without question it was the turning point. BUT, A run like that starts with the goaltender. Thomas was nearly flawless, amazing. Bergeron and Marchand played outstanding.Dennis Seidenberg was an animal in D.It all came together. Thanks Bruins..
There is a good chance that it was. Either way, I was not impressed with the professionalism of the Canucks. Whether it was that cheap shot or the continual dives they took feigning infractions to draw penalties.
