I listened to that clip, and she DID sound, ummm, misinformed.
But I would NEVER bet against her.
I bet she plays a mean game of Uno. ;-)

Sarah educated half the country with her version beyond “the british are coming”. Paul revere had a gun to his head, warned brits of 500 patriots. Also the bells ringing, gunfire, brings much more to the story.

She made one small mistake; besides, what a hateful editorial towards her. This is why the US is getting so many problems adding up is because of attitudes like this. this constant carping and complaining and sniping.

Reagan started out as a Democrat. He had about seven years of training in negotiations when he was president of the Screen Actor's Guild who loved him because he was so successful. For eight years as a General Electric representative, he toured the many GE plants around the country. As he constantly parlayed with the average Joe at all these plants, he began to rethink his way of looking at things and forged a conservative viewpoint that we now know so well. Reagan was very well read and knew his history. Those that scoffed and discounted him as a lightweight had no idea the background he came furnished with.
This is a hard act to follow. I know Palin's heart is in the right place. I don't know how well read she is about history or our country or how ready she is to negotiate through the minefields that are set before her. I pray she'll succeed.

Mark Levin, last night, went on a nice long point by point on all the genuinely stupid thing Obummer has said over the last couple years. He is the dumbest President America has ever had.

I would add that when she said that Paul Revere rang the bells, she obviously didn’t mean that he jumped down off his horse, ran up into every steeple, and rang the bells himself. No, he gave the agreed on warning, and the people he warned rang the bells.
The simple way of saying that is that Paul Revere rang the bells. He was responsible for ringing them because he was responsible for spreading the warning that the bells signalled.
Good grief. There’s simply no excuse for 57 states, or “I don’t speak Austrian,” or thinking it’s still 2008.

I guess the bigger questions are:
why is it so many Americans, especially those in media positions, have a complete lack of knowledge of American history? or even exhibit the most basic fact-checking before criticizing?
Why aren't the networks showing interviews with history professors stepping up front to confirm the capture and interrogation of Revere by British Regulars actually DID happen?
(Sarah consistently demonstrates that the media is not only biased against hetero women, but downright dishonest when it comes to covering their own hysterical rants)

weve got Obamas 57 states thing, which was actually another plausible slip (I think he actually meant 47 states) Nah, he meant the Organization of the Islamic Conference, which has 57 member states. He'd no doubt like to add a 58th, one with 50 substates.

And Palin is more of a Goldwater Republican than a Ronald Reagan Republican.
Though all 3 are from the Goldwater School:)
