Nixon and today's progressive GOP (RINOs talk like conservatives, govern like Socialists)
World Net Daily ^ | 2011-06-04 | Ellis Washington

Despite the past two and a half years America has been run by a president who is in every respect a socialist with communist tendencies, the pathetic GOP cannot effectively mount a first-tier candidate to seriously challenge this diminutive Marxist professor. Why? Because for 40 years the GOP has used the rhetoric of conservative Ronald Reagan, but the tactics, strategies and policies of RINO Richard Nixon.

Indeed, Reagan is lionized by today's GOP and has been for 30 years since his two successful presidential terms (1981-89), yet it reminds me of the words of Christ rebuking the hypocritical and power-hungry religious leaders of his day – the Sadducees and Pharisees – And why call ye me, Lord, Lord, and do not the things which I say? In other words, why do GOP leaders like John Boehner, Eric Cantor, Mitch McConnell and Paul Ryan and presidential candidates like Rudy Giuliani, John McCain, Newt Gingrich, Mitt Romney, Jon Huntsman and Tim Pawlenty all mimic Reagan's words, but underneath the sheep's clothing crouches the RINO Republican wolf, Richard Nixon?

I question if Paul Ryan belongs in that group.

Your article states...”While Ryan’s overall voting record is very conservative”...,something that can’t be said of any of the others on that list.

Pulling Richard Nixon forward in time to modern affairs is IGNANT. Tricky Dick fought Communism and seems to have been pretty successful at it.

A Freeper who would ignore that is SOFT ON COMMUNISM.

Right?

Well yeah, then he abandoned the legitimate government of China in favor of the communists and imposed wage controls in the US.

The legitimate government of China has been busy ever since investing hundreds of billions of new investment in Big China.

The plan continues to play out just as Tricky Dick foresaw.

In a 1969 memo by liberal icon Sen. Patrick Moynihan, D-N.Y., Nixon enacted the first U.S. policies to combat global warming.

Memos don't enact policies. Moynihan's memo brought up the topic, but where's the evidence that the Nixon administration acted on "global climate change?"

It looks like "action" began and ended with Moynihan's memorandum. Anti-pollution legislation in those days was concerned with more real and pressing matters, and so far as I can see, some action against those more real pollutants was necessary and beneficial.

Nixon appointed three socialist justices to the Supreme Court: Warren E. Burger (1969–1986 [Chief Justice]), Harry Blackmun (1970–1994) and Lewis F. Powell, Jr. (1972–1987) thus paving the way for Roe v. Wade (1973).

Not everybody one disagrees with is a socialist. Whatever they were, Burger and Blackmun weren't socialists, and Powell certainly wasn't. Rehnquist, who Nixon also appointed doesn't even get mentioned here.

Rehnquist dissented in Roe v. Wade. The others were in the majority in that case, but it's really that Nixon could have forseen the decision or how they'd vote.

I wish Nixon and all of the RINOs (Republicans in name only) both pre- and post-Nixon would have obeyed the wise words of objectivist philosopher Ayn Rand, who said:

Nixon vs. Ayn Rand??????

Sorry, gotta go with Dick on this one.

Should be an "unlikely" somewhere in that sentence.

Sure, when they couldn’t get help with the bully they had to curry favor. So, how is it working out? China is building it’s military and trying to weaken the US on multiple fronts.

And speaking of a RINO, Ayn Rand was not really a Republican. Couldn’t be by definition.

Buddy of mine was in the Russian Army once. Due to having made a serious error in a philosophy class (he forgot to check the Party positions first ~ in a large file cabinet called Party positions) he was sent to the FAR EAST, and I mean FAR EAST.

He spent most of two years in an area with log houses, behind a stockade (wolves were a problem), with erratic gasoline powered generators, little heat, no warm water ~ eating lunch meat and potatoes, across from a big, booming CHINESE CITY of several million people right across the river.

Here he was in one of the emptiest spots on Earth and there were the Chinese living right there in one of the most crowded spots on Earth.

He said he learned what Soviet Defense was all about down on the border ~ and it had nothing to do with the West.

There are no “ex Democrats” who’ve ever run for office as a Democrat. There are only RINOs.
