Well, now I know how the Chinese will beat us: with the help of the Usual Suspects.
PING!
Shit :-(
I just got done learnin’ how to speak Spanish...
Always figured of Idaho being a big right wing place.
Hi yankee....haha...how you say Idaho?...haha...you buy china potato and some poon tang doggy yum yum treat...It not tainted no more....you take home and eat...it good for you yankee...Bye bye now.
What?????
I guess our secret is out. Buy rice, Patriots! Potatoes are pure Communism now...
Maybe we can unload San Francisco, Seattle, and Oakland on 'em.
Discussion in the ‘comments’ section about Ohio local officials also making the trip to the PRC. Auto plant area people. Maybe a bid to have PRC re-open closed plants in Ohio...OR...selling off machinery. Thats been done also.
What the hell is going on? When did this happen? Anyone know more about this? Idaho is not being given to the Chinese without an all out War!
Pass this on. Make it go viral! Is it time for phase II?
When do we say enough is enough?
This article is extremely heavy on hyperbole and fearmongering, and very light on facts. When going to read the rest of the article, the writer complains about letting Chinese companies open in Idaho, without showing any worry of other countries opening in the US, such as Japanese and German. He jumps around to try connecting dots and doesnt stay on a single point for more than a few sentences.
In looking at the Project 60 website, it looks like anyone who invests $1 million in a city or $500k in a rural area worth of jobs can get permanent residency. IT uses the EB-5 law, passed by Congress in 1990 to attract foreign businesses to set up shop in the US.
This is definitely a globalism inspired move, by trying to have more trade relations with other countries, but it does not look like “selling Idaho.”
Why are we inviting communists to Idaho?
The reason why people accumulate money is because they can spend it in the future. It’s the only reason why anyone would want money. The Chinese have been accumulating US money for a long time. The Chinese just want to spend their money now, while it still has some value.
The Obama Admin is not particularly treasonous in this regard; the difference from its Democrat and Republican predecessors is only a matter of degree, not of kind. The USG has been borrowing from the Chinese for decades now, and the Fed and Treasury have been eroding its value continuously. Can anybody really blame the Chinese for acting to secure real value for their money?
Does nobody know the Scripture? “The rich ruleth over the poor, and the borrower is slave to the lender.” (Proverbs 22:7)
I know quite a few Idahoans who aren’t likely to go along with such a scenario.
Having said that, Otter is a lunkhead anyhow.
I remember the same thing being said about the Japanese in the 1980's and they've been in economic decline ever since.
Re: Idaho to be first Chinese state
Them ChiCom’s, they do make for a crude but yet convenient-ready-punch-bag and political capital come election time isn’t it?
Hell! The Donald is employing it as his main course; his possible running mate Sarah is capitalizing on it as well; Obi-Wan Kenobi exploited it when he made a bit for the top office and won; even Allen West of FL http://news.antiwar.com/2011/05/31/rep-west-us-needs-bigger-navy-to-fight-china/ is attempting to out do Robert Gates in the exploiting of the ChiComs as political capital for the secretariat job (???); and now Governor Butch Otter of Idaho is jumping in on the circle the wagon’s game?
Strange set of circumstances:
late 90’s, they brought out [President David Palmer] and Bam!, El Presidente BHO hits the scene.
2005, they brought out “Commander in chief” with Geena Davis as the big man and BAM! every women in America started to jump in on the El Presidente opportunity bandwagon.
Now, somebody is bringing out Idaho as the first Chinese State, does that mean we’ll being hearing the BIGGEST BAM of them all here???
Does the term [Senile] strike any cords here???
Better change the name to Iraho then.
Chinese purchase of US assets is simply another way of stashing their cash. In this case, it creates jobs. Just as US financial institutions stash money in China via investments, e.g., factories, business partnerships, joint ventures, etc., the Chinese are doing the same here by investing in businesses.
The world is more borderless, economically, than it is politically.
