20 years ago we rode the amtrak train from Jacksonville to New York city.
It was an “interesting” 13 hour ride.
I did a God knows what from Chicago to Seattle in 1970 and it was quite an awakening for this country boy.
When I was in boarding school in the early 60’s I took the train from Cincy to Cleveland on breaks.....it was wonderful. The dining car had linen tablecloths and wonderful food. There were pullman cars that had couches etc., a great adventure. I won’t take Amtrak for fear that my fond memories of train travel will be ruined.
