An apples and oranges juggling act is never helpful in any discussion.

We (human beings) don’t write the rules. Bill can get mad if he wants to.

What I know for a certainty is that I am Saved and the certainty that God wants no one to parish but Jesus is still the only way

No, you don't know that you are saved...do you belong to the only church that Jesus founded....do you follow Christ's command that whose sins you shall forgive, they are forgiven them, whose sins you shall retain, they are retained.....or unless you eat of the flesh of the son of man, and drink of His blood, you shall not be saved....certainty is a big word and unless you are a Catholic, you can't even come close to being certain. Protestants love to make up their own rules...sola scriptura....no music in the church, divorce and remarry, my denomination, not yours, martin luther VS Wesley, VS zwingly, VS Henry VIII, Vs Knox....it goes on and on, they can't all be right, only one can, and I'll stick to Catholicism...

What a sad little life you must have, I pity those tied to legalism and arbitrary rules. Jesus was clear about Salvation. I do not have to earn it, it is a gift. Nowhere does Jesus say I must belong to a "church". I am Saved through the Blood of Jesus, He and He alone has set me free. I have assurance, Jesus does not lie.

Oh, I’m sure that she does; I do! - The Lord tells me so constantly.

Absolutely! - It was founded over 300 years before the sham known as the “Roman Catholic Church” was founded by crafty Pharisaical Rabbis that wanted to continue their “oral traditions.”

you just keep believing that....it means nothing, but it sure sounds convincing...When Jesus said to Peter that Upon this rock I will build MY church....was He speaking as a pharisaical rabbi???? or when He said feed my lambs, feed my sheep, or take this and eat of it, this is My body....kind of another of those pharisaical things I guess.....keep your head under that sand, you'll be O.K.

you're right, He never said that we had to belong to a church. That having been said, he founded a church, the Catholic church, and it seems to me that belonging to the church that He founded pretty much indicates that He is our guide in this matter......or would you choose Joseph Smith, Martin Luther, Knox, Henry VIII, Mary Baker Eddy(?), or you could be a Wiccan, Hindu whatever, but a TRUE Christian......????????

Jesus is the rock on which the church is built.

The Pharisees would have no part of that, so they founded the “catholic” church, which followed their rejection of the scriptures and held their same old oral tradition.

They wanted to own the people just as they had during the dark days of the waning years of the old covenant. Anyone wanting to know what Judaism was like in 100 BC need only look at the human centered catholic ‘church.’

Just because Jews don't follow "sola scriptura"?

You’re so wrong on every point!

You, I’m sure truly are antisemitic, but any view of my posting history will show that I am highly pro-Israel.

Real Jews are very “sola scriptura,” just like real Christians are. The Levitical law is the foundation to real Jews.

The Pharisees were satanic just as the papacy is today, and that makes sense since they founded the papacy.

What then to make of Matthew 7:13 & 14, "Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it. Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it."
Gotta consider those verses in the context of the firstfruits and the first resurrection; other verses in the Bible indicate that the firstfruits number in the hundreds of thousands rather than billions. Remember the innumerable multitude in Revelation 7:9-10; they're certainly not going into the lake of fire, and they're singing praises to God about their salvation.

Unhistorical baloney. "Pontifex maximus" comes right out of the Roman pagan religion, not out of any branch of Judaism. Julius Caesar was a Pontifex maximus.
