What you are saying is true. However, human nature is true also. We remember the people who have insulted and/or hurt us and we tend to extrapolate.

For example, for years I only knew one person from a particular religious denomination. He was so extraordinarily mean, dishonest, arrogant and condescending that, like it or not, I developed a very bad image of that denomination.

About a year ago, I met a whole church-full of people from the same denomination. Turns out they are almost to a man and to a woman extremely kind and decent people. Needless to say, my opinion of their denomination has undergone a transformation.

Which is a longish way of saying that we are all a combination of intellectual and emotional beings. Our minds may tell us, ‘this is just one bad egg’. But if the experience is sufficiently negative, it’s all but impossible to keep it from tainting one’s more general outlook.

If that makes sense?

An example in logical reasoning follows:
Most vets I know are headcases and child molesters. And I think I know Bruce Campbells Chin. In fact, I think he is only vet I know.
