This may be a dumb question or may have already been hashed out, but I wonder if or when Obama was adopted by Mr. Soetoro, the original BC was sent to Indonesia for the adoption process. If so could it be sealed in the hands of the Indonesian government?
I ask because at age 5, I was adopted by my step-father. To this day the birth certificate I have in my hands states my adoptive father was present at the time of my birth. At one time adopted children could not access their original birth certificates. Yes, I know now I could pursue it, but at this stage in my life I’m good with what I have.
I’m pretty sure Hawaii law requires them to keep their own birth certificates and seal them themselves in adoption cases.
