wow! what did they do with that 12 billion surplus in Alaska? Did they give it back to the taxpayer?
The $12 billion is AFTER they gave a big chuck of it back to the people. Since the people pay no state income tax, no sales tax and no state property taxes they are not really any taxpayers in AK. Palin forward funded education, made major payments on the unfunded pension programs, invested in infrastructure projects, placed tax credits to encourge a film industry (which is now thriving in AK) and they still are in great finiacial shape. Esp now has oil shoots up Palin’s tax policy on oil increases as oil price increases. So has the oil goes up the $12 billion surplus continues to go up.
