Yes the sky is falling, the sky is falling. Danger Will Robinson. I just got off google after perusing 58 pages of doom & gloom, danger, the sky falling, one is hoping it will close and stay closed. Its gonna be OK. The WH will save us all. Federal employee union already preparing a lawsuit because union members are worried about their mortgages. State governors are in trouble, the world is definitely ending.
I was wanting to know how many times (besides during our last Democratic Presidents term) has the government shut down. (If you know let me know.) I dont have time to wander through mindless bloggles (yup, new word: reading blogs until mind is boggled) of every one putting in their two cents so I thought, Ill put in my mindless two cents.
If the government shuts down, it is because of politics. The super ego in the WH doesnt want to appear weak again but needs to reclaim his role as fearless leader. No thats not right. He has to attempt to show he can actually lead. It is hard to be a leader when you do not have a lot of experience at leading. I liked what Donald Trump said on GMA in response to the question what did he think the President had done right. He replied, He ran a good election campaign. Sounds like my kind of man.
The Republics leadership (the Speaker of the House), must actually show a little of his super ego and butt heads with the other super ego. (I had a state senator tell me that all politicians have super egos and I believe him.) So here we are, stalemate. If the government shuts down, next week they will meet and work out something so each super ego can go to his camp and say, look what I got and get a pat on the back.
Meanwhile, Joe Blow in good old USA is scratching his butt thinking, how did these supposedly intelligent (I use the word in a very loose, sense.) people in DC do this. I dont know about you but in three months this budget could have been handled as grow-ups would, not as children. Im getting tired of state government making their budgets too big and expecting it to work out. Im tired of county and local governments not handling their budgets wisely. Every few years, the state has to cut its budget because the tax money didnt get the memo to show up. The cities and schools have to revamp their budgets and fire teachers and lay off employees because the elected dodos think tax money is to be spent beyond what can come in. In Texas we will lose half of our states rainy day fund so some teachers will not get fired.
Well, Im sorry. But, life is not a bed of rose pedals, it is hard, it is tough and it is a struggle despite all the BS from the positive thinking boo-hoos.
