Mitt Romney's Record on Sanctuary Cities
Right Speak ^ | 3/27/2011 | Right Wingnut

This appears to have been another attempt by Mitt Romney to appeal to Republican primary voters. If he was so concerned about the danger imposed on the residents of sanctuary cities, why did he wait until the final days of his term to address the problem? Moreover, Gov. Elect Patrick was already on record promising to recind the agreement. Romney was well aware that it would never take effect. Would this have been part of his platform had he decided to run for re-election in Massachusetts? Not likely.

From Fact Check.org:

“Mitt Romney casts himself as tough on illegal immigration in a new ad in which he says that, as Massachusetts governor, “I authorized the State Police to enforce immigration laws.” He doesn’t mention that his order never took effect. It came in the closing days of his administration and was rescinded by his successor, as we wrote back in August.

He also promises, “As President, I’ll . . . cut funding for sanctuary cities.” Maybe so, but as governor he took no action against several such towns in his state.

We find Romney misleading on both counts.”

Any presidential candidate who claims they will “cut funding” for anything is pretty much a liar. Since there is no line item veto available for the president and massive appropriation bills are the order of the day what we’re seeing here is a bunch of Romney BS.

If Romney is the nominee, we're toast. Four more years of Bama the Incompetent and bye bye to the US as we knew it.

Riddle me this: How can a candidate Romney run on repealing 0bamacare when he instituted it as governor of Mass?

The only way I would consider voting for Myth is when Jim Robinson sends me an email and personally asks me to consider Myth as a viable candidate.

I recognize this is a high bar for Myth, and for me, but it's the only option I would consider.

Mitt went to elite prep schools, was accepted and attended Stanford, accepted and graduated from Harvard Law school and got a Harvard MBA.

He has excellent command of the english language and is a control junkie and knows what he is doing at all times.

All his weasel language, obfuscation are all knowing, planned calculated manipulative lies.

We know he is not ignorant or uneducated. He’s just amoral, and wants and will do anything, or undo anything to be President. Such a ethical moral cripple should not be a candidate of the Republican Party.

Romney is just another fraud. Maybe he isn’t as big a fraud as the one we have now, but America deserves better. We need to stop defrauding ourselves.

Unfortunately the young people in the south who lean right but nevertheless voted for RINO Romney in 2008 because they did not want to appear “southern baptist biased” due to his mormonism, seem to be considering him again...

The “but he’s a good businessman” angle...

However they cant name any instances...

and they are afraid of being deemed “far right” if they dont vote for him...

“far right” is “nazi/Alien Nation” country...

when I asked 2 or 3 young peo-le who consider themselves conservatives where pro-lifers fit in I was told they can be moderate, right, or far right.,.

so just who is blurring the lines this election cycle..

Several 20-40 year olds that I know voted for Romney

1. because it wasnt cool to not vote for a guy just because he was a mormon..

2. mormon was equal to black..it was bigoted not to vote for either..

2. they werent sure where Romney fell, moderate or conservative..

3. conservative was equal to far right/weird and if Romney was not conservative that was OK..

so who is laying down the definitions this time ???

I, for one, welcome all the vetting Romney is getting. The more I learn, the less I like.

Nicely stated. Well done.
