Fifth Fleet Bahrain Bug Out
John Batchelor Show ^ | March 17,2011 | John Batchelor

Posted on 03/18/2011 6:26:49 PM PDT by Hojczyk

The news from Manama, the capitol of the small island state of Bahrain, is that the Fifth Fleet HQ has gone on maneuvers to Oman for an indefinite time frame. In sum, bug out from the proxy war in Bahrain between Riyadh and Tehran.

Am told that the IRGC has staffed and funded the so-called protesters. The social media messaging that now floods the web, #bahrain, is suspect of being an IRGC disinformation campaign. Of most significance, am told the Bahrain confrontation marks the breakdown of the 65 year-long alliance between Washington and Riyadh. The Kingdom has now turned away. China through the Pakistan connection looks like the choice to replace the US.

Spoke Barry Rubin, GLORIA, to learn that Egypt is also tumbling away from the US. Pat Lang, Sic Semper Tyrannis, said that Cairo is looking for another sponsor. What has caused this break between Washington and its allies in the Middle East? Am told that the White House is deaf to experienced diplomats in the region. That the White House is piously ideological in supporting so-called democratic leaning youth protesters despite the evidence that the "yuppie bloggers" are either naive ideologues themselves, without experience in governance or diplomacy, or they are tools of the anarchists, Islamists and Twelvers. Asked Barry Rubin if the US is on the brink of losing Egypt. Answer: over the brink. Asked Pat Lang if there was any repairing break with Riyadh. Answer: no.

Don’t see how Obama would have it any other way.

The only problem with this report is that it comes from John Bachelor. In my experience, he has never been right about any of his predictions, and I find him every bit as un-credible about doings in the Middle East as DEBKA.

IRGC = Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps.

Obama has chosen to go with the Iranian Shiites. King Saud was a poor ally, but now he is not an ally at all. And Egypt has been thrown into the gutter.

And the damned press keep yelling that Obama should do MORE of this! They are all total idiots.

I’m not sure how this points to a breakdown in U.S./Saudi relations? With ominous riots in the streets of Bahrain it seems like a plenty good time to get the fleet outta there for a while.

What am I missing?

“What am I missing?”

The fact that for many their hatred of Obama defines their whole view on life. The same thing with Bush for others.

Thinking and study of the issues is simply something most people on either side just won't do..

I’ll go a step beyond Batchelor’s prediction. 5th Fleet Headquarters (and the docks where our ships berth while in port) are located in a high-security compound. If we thought Saudi Arabia and Bahrain had any chance of containing the situation, at least one vessel would remain, as a show of report for the regime, The big skedaddle indicates that the Navy (and the Pentagon) have no confidence in security forces and are preparing for a collapse of the regime—and the chaos that will follow.

What I’d like to know: how much of the 5th Fleet Staff is left in Bahrain. Something tells me there may be some shredding/classified destruction “parties” going on inside the compound tonight.

Meanwhile, the Zero in Chief is having a swell time in Rio.

Correction...I obviously meant “show of support” not “show of report.” And clearly, you don’t want your warships in a port that will become hostile after the current government collapses.

You’ll note that the stenographers in the MSM haven’t bothered to ask the essential question: is the 5th Fleet Commander still in Bahrain, or did he shift his flag to sea?

And with this, osama bin laden wins a victory

dissolving the relationship between the US and the Saudi crown was one of his goals

Had heard the rumor that Obama asked for Saudi Arabia to help the Libyan Revolutionaries, but since SA isn’t enamored of al-Qaeda SA wouldn’t do it. I doubt that the Arab states will be much help in Libya.

Is this a USA-SA break? I don’t know, but the 5th fleet had little choice other than bug out; Bahrain is really not a very good “liberty port” right now.

his goal was to destroy the USA. He’s almost accomplished it in a little over two years. I’m afraid we won’t survive the last two without Divine intervention.

The world community cannot operate without a leader. Like it or not that position is currently the responsability of the Chief Executive of the United States. Furthermore, that position is currently not filled.
