It's not the players' fault, it's the owner's fault. The owners want the players to play an 18-game season, reduce the rookie salaries, and basically want players to play for peanuts.

Football is not like baseball. Players have to train year-round, the average length of a player's lifespan is 3-5 years, and any injury sustained can basically kill your career.

So it's reasonable for players to form a union and owners should be ashamed of themselves for trying to squeeze more out of players when they themselves are billionaires and profiting from tax-payer funded stadiums.

I already understand that but it’s hard to be sympathetic to their “plight”. I know there are pleanty of people who would like to work ONE year for the league minimum of $300-$800,000+ (depending on what year the player is in). Besides, no owner is forcing them to play football.
