The Daleys of Chicago, always a family of ignorant, power hungry thugs, appear to have added murder to the list of their timeless contributions to the Windy City way of life. On April 25th, 2004, 21 year old David Koschman and four friends were drinking in Chicagos downtown. Upon exiting a club, Koschman bumped into someone from another group which had been covering the bars.
A moment later, a member of that party struck Koschman, driving his head into the street causing brain damage from which the young man never recovered. His mother buried him 20 days later, disconnecting life support after 2 failed surgeries to relieve pressure from a brain swelling so severely that it was causing his eyes to be pushed from their sockets. The Cook County Medical Examiners office called it a homicide.
Seven years passed and on March 5th, after briefly re-opening the casein order to call it an open investigation, thereby preventing the Chicago Sun-Times from issuing a public records requestthe Chicago Police Department declared the case closed, refusing to prosecute, refusing to identify the members of the other party and refusing to identify the individual who struck David Koschman.
His mother remembers that, in 2004, a condescending police detective, tracked down by the attorney wife of a friend she had asked for help, told her. you would be impressed by the names of the people involved in this. Apparently the detective was impressed because R. J. Vanecko, nephew of Mayor Richard Daley, was one of those people.
R.J. Vanecko is the son of Mayor Richard Daleys sister Mary and Dr. Robert M. Vanecko. He had been drinking that evening After the blow which cost Koschman his life, Vanecko .. began to run.

absolutely horrifying comment
It's possible, in a small, corrupt community like Chicago, for some people to wield so much power that it's essentially "absolute" power. These individuals like to test the limits of that power (to better enjoy the sensation of it's limitlessness), and sooner or later they need to get away with murder, the ultimate test of personal power. The knowledge that they can take the life of another person, on a whim, and get away with it scott-free, is pleasurable to them.
Of course, it never ends with just one. That thrill wears off too, like all thrills.
Unfortunately, the victim and his mother believed we have a justice system when the reality is that we have a legal system. When you understand the difference between the two, it will be like the scales falling from the Apostle Paul’s eyes during his Damascus Road experience. It becomes clear how the Daley Machine was able to operate over the years.
Why do you suppose they want gun control in IL?
The cops and the mob work together as the Chicago machine, and they don’t want any competition or addition job risk.
Yes, person A causing the death of person B makes it homicide. That doesn't mean it's murder, though.
Very true and well written.
How long are “We the People” going to allow the incredible vice and crime exhibited by the politicians?

Valerie Jarrett is a part of Dailey’s group.
Daley’s family gets away with a Rick Sanchez ... the Chicago Way.
Democracy kinda cool to vote yourself with others out of crime and jail. The judges decide which laws to enforce and which vote counts.
And now for the Chicago way of doing things: police did not interview witnesses until after Koschman had died, nearly 3 weeks after the event;
Vanecko has NEVER been questioned, refusing to talk to police; Vanecko shaved his head to change his appearance before appearing at a line-up held ONE MONTH after the crime; witness Michael Connolly claims that police misrepresented his statements to them;
the case file is now missing from the public prosecutors office; the States Attorney refuses to reveal the name of the prosecutor who decided to neither file charges or ask for a grand jury;
the prosecutors office claims no charges were filed because the 55, 140 pound Koschman was the aggressor and the 63, 230 pound Vanecko had,
the right to defend himself, although witnesses call police claims of Koschman being the aggressor
a flat-out lie.

Despicable .. and what else to expect .. it’s the Chicago Way. God comfort the family of another victim of the Machine. No different than Chappaquidick.
I don’t make the call so I hope Jesus will put them in a very warm place.
0h0m0 is doing things the Chicago way, in DC. “District of Criminals”. Did you read the lastest Ulsterman blog? All about the Chicago way.
Not sure I get your point(?). Homicide does not mean murder. That was my point. What’s yours?
Stunning.
