Unfortunately, The other 36% (of which, a third are union members), are a vocal and determined bunch when it comes to protecting their gravy train. We are going to need to be more involved and equally as vocal and unrelenting in order to institute the changes that need to be made. The closed shop and contract set-asides for unions need to be made a thing of the past. They had there time, place and purpose, they served it well and ned to be relegated to the dustbin of history.

In today's litigious, Youtube society, employers are not abusing employees in the manner the unions fought in the early 1900's - they would be exposed, videotaped, recorded and sued in less than a minute if they were. The unions serve themselves and are nothing but an extension of the democrat party. It's nothing but a big slushfund anymore.

With all due respect, I think you got things sorta backwards. Here's how I'd say it:

The unions and trial lawyers serve themselves, and the democrat party is are nothing but an extension of the democrat party unions and trial lawyers.
