On a street corner in downtown Concord, California, Fred Douglas and Alexandra Phillips are asking people to sign a petition to invoke the 25th Amendment of the Constitution, and remove Barack Obama from office. Strategically positioned near a Bank of America ATM, their table is piled high with literature from the LaRouche Political Action Committee, and sports a poster of Obama in a Hitler moustache. Passerby gawk at the image, and one or two stop to talk. One man says he voted for Obama and doesn’t agree with them, but supports their right to be on the streets with the campaign. He declines the literature at first, but after using the ATM picks up a flyer.
I spent a few minutes talking with Fred Douglas, and asking about their campaign.
Why do you think the 25th Amendment is applicable?
He suffers from NPD, Narcissistic Personality Disorder. He’s cut himself off from anyone that disagrees with him. He’s dangerous. Let’s just get him out, and move on. He can go play basketball with LeBron. Go raise his kids. But get out of the White House.
The controversial Lyndon H. LaRouche has run for the presidency eight times since 1976, and heads a large and active PAC with offices across the country, as well as a think tank. He has been especially critical of Obama, likening his policies to those of Hitler’s in Germany. But the LaRouche PAC is not the first to make Obama’s narcissism an issue. Anyone who listens to Obama’s speeches, peppered with references to his life, and the constant use of the word I is aware that there’s a very large ego present. An article in the American Chronicle entitled Barack Obama - Narcissist or Merely Narcissistic? by Sam Vaknin, Ph.D. raised the flag as early as 2008, and it’s been a popular topic on websites like Free Republic.
Why do you think that if the 25th Amendment were invoked it would change things? After all, Biden would become president.
He’d become president for the short term. At least he’s a patriot. He’s an American.
Tell me what you mean by that: he’s an American.
He’s an American, at least he’s a patriot. He has a military record [not true-ed.], he has some sort of experience dealing with government problems and issues.
Let me go back to what you said about being an American. Do you believe Barack Obama’s not an American?
We don’t want to get into that, that’s a whole other can of worms. Let me put it this way: he certainly doesn’t represent our constitution and have allegiance to this nation. That’s blatantly obvious. He doesn’t represent this country.
While the LaRouche brand of politics may not fit with the beliefs of most conservatives, it's important to pay attention to other voices, and be ready to find common ground. As Winston Churchill once said: "If Hitler had invaded hell I would at least make a favourable reference to the Devil in the House of Commons."
The 25th Amendment doesn’t apply. BO/BS is not President since he does not fulfill the natural born citizenship requirement in Article 2 Section 1. He needs to be arrested and charged with treason.
