Just unbelievable. Thanks for posting that article. No wonder his name is moron! For anyone who thinks Republicans and conservatives are racist just ask yourself this question- Who talks more about race? It’s the Libs who are obsessed with race!

Sarah has a lot of support, but she now has all the support she is ever likely to get. Yes she can fill any venue to the rafters with Conservatives and Tea Party people, but that's not enough to beat Obama if it was she and McCain would have won. Face it the only reason Obama didn't blow McCain completely out of the water was Sarah. I think sometimes that by McCain picking her and her excepting the VP slot we lost the chance of having a truly great conservative President. I wish now that she had said no finished her term as governor of Alaska and than ran for the number one slot in 2012, but that's Monday Morning Quarterbacking.

I completely agree. Sarah Palin’s greatest strength is the way she can draw a crowd of conservatives together. I think the best thing she could do for the conservative movement is throw her support behind a candidate like Herman Cain. If she endorsed Cain early on, can you imagine the effect that would have on the race?

That’s the deal.

I don’t even think about it until someone brings it up.

Very misleading. He came in 7th. Mitwitt ran off with it. Which is absolutely understandable since it was New Hampshire. Your boy Cain was seventh.

He was beaten by Mitt, Ron, Tim, Sarah, Michele and Jim. I am sure he is a great guy and all but his actual ranking would have been helpful.

FULL Straw Poll Results:

1 Mitt Romney Former Massachusetts Governor 35%

2 Ron Paul Texas Congressman 11%

3 Tim Pawlenty Former Minnesota Governor 8%

4 Sarah Palin Former Alaska Governor, 2008 GOP Vice Presidential Nominee 7%

5 Michele Bachmann Minnesota Congresswoman 5%

6 Jim DeMint South Carolina Senator 5%

7 Herman Cain Tea Party Speaker & Former C.E.O. 4%

8 Chris Christie New Jersey Governor 3%

9 Rick Santorum Former Pennsylvania Senator 3%

10 Mitch Daniels Indiana Governor 3%

11 Newt Gingrich Former U.S. House Speaker 3%

12 Mike Huckabee Former Arkansas Governor 3%

13 Mike Pence Indiana Congressman 3%

14 Rudy Giuliani Former New York City Mayor 2%

15 Judd Gregg Former NH Senator 2%

16 Gary Johnson Former New Mexico Governor 2%

17 Other 2%

18 Donald Trump Real Estate Mogul 1%

19 Haley Barbour Mississippi Governor 1%

20 Jon Huntsman Jr. U.S. Ambassador to China 0%

21 John Thune South Dakota Senator 0%

Mark my words, he would WASTE Obama in the general election. Best candidate in the field imo.

If all the DNC media bloggers and chain-clamping in Alaska had NOT forced Sarah close to personal financial bankruptcy along with increasing the State debts with all their frivolous "ethics charges",
then I'm certain that Sarah Palin would have been able to finish out her term.

But, She would have been 2-late by then to give so much support to most of the 2010 candidates. Transitioning from a government job to the private sector requires a good down-time period to reload and recharge.

AMERICA can't wait any loger than 2012 for Sarah to give her utmost.
I am backing Sarah in 2012 and no one else. She has been fighting socialism with her every breath and has been zealous against the political status-quo.

King/Queen-maker is too small a task for her.

I understand he was beaten by some others in the straw poll, but the fact that he finished above supposed “top-tier” candidates like Mike Huckabee, Newt Gingrich, Chris Christie, and Mitch Daniels really says something. Especially when you realize that Herman Cain gets absolutely zero press coverage or mentions in the 2012 field. Imagine if the media, FOX News, and talk radio focused just 1/2 the attention on Herman Cain that they do on Newt, Huck, and Christie. I think if he got more attention he would easily have finished even higher in the poll!

You miss what I was saying if she would have turned down McCain’s offer I doubt anyone would have given her a second thought, that would have allowed her to finish her term and then run for the number one slot. I think Sarah would have made a very good President, but again I point out she has all the support she will ever be able to get and thought that is considerable it’s not enough to beat Obama. And we have to beat that @#$%^$ or the country goes down the drain!

I see what you are saying, Kartographer.
And here is where I am optimistic:

I believe that Sarah's base-of-support can go up even more than it is at right now.

I sincerely believe that She will present a valid and readily-acceptable plan to save AMERICA when she hits the campaign trail in 2012.
I believe that her plans to defund and diminish many outrageous and invasive federal government agencies will be acceptable to Independents....as long as they remain angry at Obama and his administration.

Again, I am very-optimistic because I know that Sarah has a track-record of fighting corruption in both parties.

Sorry as much as I like Sarah the electorate has already clearly decide she is someone that you either love or hate and there just isn’t that many undecidededs. She would draw fairly much what she and McCain drew and as we know that’s just not enough.

Geez, what’s up with all the blogpimps coming to the FreeRepublic and creating brand new accounts just to pimp their own blog.

It’s like email spam to a message board.

What’s next, advertisements for Viagra?

He put it in Bloggers, not News; posted the whole article, not an excerpt; wrote it himself, instead of copying someone else's work or just linking a YouTube video; and sticks around to respond to people, instead of post and run.

I'd rather have bloggers like this on Free Republic than just get excerpts and generate hits for Politico and The Hill. Heck, he even seems to be able to use spell check, which several of them have never heard of.
