Yes, but he has mellowed with age, and is using measured, sensible language.
I saw Chomsky speak twice in college. The first time, because a group of liberal friends were going, and he was supposedly a “leading intellectual of the left.” The second time, because I was so befuddled by his first talk, I wanted to see if he made any more sense the second time around.
He did not. His talk was a hair-ball of ridiculous conspiracy theories and leftist cliches. I felt like he made it up as he went along and he made no sense whatsoever. If it wasn’t for credulous college undergrads and a few hard-core leftist professors, Chomsky would be forced to work street corners with a cardboard sign.
