DADT repeal not a dead issue in Virginia; Delegate wants state’s right to apply

Newly released research into Virginian George Washington’s decisions as Commander of the Continental Army tells us the question of what to do about homosexuals in our military ranks has been with us since before we were a nation.

During the awful winter of 1777/ 1778 with his Army hunkered down at Valley Forge trying to merely survive, Washington was forced to divert some of his valuable time to deal with a Court Martial of one of his officers, a homosexual caught “attempting to commit sodomy” with subordinate soldier.

The officer’s troubles began with an accusation from another officer who was brave enough to bring the charges two weeks earlier. That officer was arrested and made to stand trial and be cleared of “propagating a scandalous report prejudicial to the character of [the homosexual officer],” before the charges were brought against the homosexual officer.

Aside from perjury, the homosexual officer was convicted of violating “the 5th Article 18th section of the Articles of War. He was dismissed and “drummed” out of camp.

This report makes it very clear that even from its infancy the American military has always met this issue with a measured response and not a “witch hunt” mentality.

Washington saw homosexual conduct as so detrimental to the good order and cohesiveness of his Army that without hesitation he dismissed this officer in spite of his dire need for personnel.

The cavalier attitude toward the good order of the military exhibited by those in Congress who repealed the Don’t Ask Don’t Tell policy is not shared by a modern day Virginia politician Republican Delegate Bob Marshall. Marshall has announced plans to propose legislation which would ban homosexuals from serving in the Virginia’s National Guard.

Turning this into a Tenth Amendment issue looks like a smart way to fight back. Let the Courts have it and they will NOT overturn the Tenth Amendment.

Secession would turn EVERYTHING into a 10th amendment issue.

It is certainly one way but I think another is to call the homosexuals bluff. Pass a clear ban on homosexual behavior and activism in the ranks. Make it clear that their won’t be any gay military reality tv crap. Recruitment at gay events or marching in pride parades while in uniform. Also make sure recruits are protected from being demoted or discharged for expressing negative opinions of homosexuals or other types of sexual behavior. We already have one victim of the silliness.

I am so sick of this! There is a reason the vast majority of people react to homosexuality with a feeling of disgust in their gut! Because it is wrong!

Social engineering.....making us feel guilty about our natural instincts.

We lost a dedicated soldier and leader because some faggot was offended??

Geez...The Major of NYC dressed up on live TV....and faggots laughed their butts off. I'm tired of faggots "in my face". They are not a part of my lifestyle. I believe in family and children and man and woman as the only means of propogation.

Homos "solicit" young folks.

I’m with you 100%! My gag reflex goes into effect everytime I have to look at one of them. I don’t know how I can stand it if my grandkids have to grow up in a society that tell’s them that kind of perverted behavior is “ok”.

Of course it’s a natural reflex to be repelled by what is against God and Nature!
