That she is aware of this academic and his strong free market ideas shows she has an insight on economics that goes beyond the lip service we usually get from politicians.
His main premises:
The market is the best mechanism to create wealth.
We need to differentiate pro-market and pro-business decisions
The market must have a moral dimension.

I personally know the Prof. Smart guy originally from Italy, bastion of social democrats and Communists (cities like Siena and Bologna have actually been run by the Communists). He testified before Congress against most of the provisions of TARP.
Luigi teaches some intersting classes at University of Chicago GSB, according to my niece and her husband, both of whom graduated from the school before its name-change to Booth GSB at the University of Chicago.

It’s a shame that some of the fiercest free marketers are foreigners who have come here to escape the statist regimes of their home country. I wish native born Americans had as much appreciation for what we have (and seem to be losing)
Yes.... Pro Business is the area where the market protects a few TOP GUYS....see Goldman Sachs...etc and leaves everybody else out to dry...while Pro Market opens the door to give everybody a fair shake to succeed or fail
