A lesson for Republicans who want to appear "compassionate":

You can spend billions to fight AIDS, you can spend billions to help Somalia, you can fund breast cancer research, you can do a great many things which all the "do-gooders" support.

As soon as they get the chance, the do-gooders will turn around and they will say, "Those Republicans have no heart, they don't care, they never even try to help."

So, stop trying to be another do-gooder. You won't get any credit for the effort. Just stick to the Constitution, shrink government, and let the world go about its business.

It is not the job of government to be a do-gooder style government.

A lesson for Republicans who want to appear “compassionate”:
Reduce the size of government by removing agencies. May I suggest you start with the NEA.
