Today is the 46th anniversary of Ronald Reagan’s famous speech, “A Time for Choosing.”

The thing that struck me as I watched it again was how relevant its message still is for today’s America. Just as in 1964, we have a president who says “we must accept a greater government activity in the affairs of the people.” And just as then, we hear the voices of those on the left who claim the profit motive has become “outdated” and the Constitution “outmoded.” Back then liberals aimed to build a Great Society in which the state looked after us “from the cradle to the grave.” Today’s “fundamental transformation” doesn’t have a similarly catchy name, but its aims are no different from those of Johnson’s central planners.

And so once again we face an election in which the fundamental issue is “whether we believe in our capacity for self-government or whether we abandon the American revolution and confess that a little intellectual elite in a far-distant capitol can plan our lives for us better than we can plan them ourselves.”

Reagan believed that in the end, Americans would always choose liberty over tyranny. He called it our “destiny,” our American birth right. Well, this coming Tuesday, you and I have another rendezvous with destiny. America, let’s go and win one for the Gipper.

It has become really obvious by the left hated Reagan. He interrupted their transformal changes they were seeking. We don’t have Reagan today, but this time the people have stepped up.

The only “Great Society” the liberals can create is a third world dictatorship. Obama’s ‘great leap forward’ will have America looking like Haiti if he isn’t stopped.

What a beautiful picture. Michael Reagan has said that Sarah Palin exemplifies his father's beliefs better than any male candidate (this was said during the 2008 campaign). I figure Michael should know.

Well, to hear Peggy Noonan, she’d have us believe she was his voice, but I think he had a lot of input. Sarah Palin writes her own for the better part, just like she writes her own FaceBook entries. Her degree is in journalism. I don’t think any president has the time to write all of his speeches, but President Reagan’s voice was clear in his major speeches.

Reagan was the man for his time, but, in retrospect, he didn't go nearly far enough, either because he felt he couldn't, or was genuinely constrained by both events and politics.

This time around, the people are cognizant of the issues that confront us, and see the grand designs of the mensheviks (let's face it, that's what in reality they are!) as something both inimical to American society and dangerous to it's social fabric.

Because of this historic confluence of electoral events, we see people in record numbers voting for what in the past have been labeled pure, unrepentant radicals. The thing is, more and more people are waking up to the reality of the Left's "politics of personal destruction" and realizing it wasn't the conservatives who were radical, but the mensheviks themselves.

We have the Internet, in large part, to thank for this, but people must realize it is very late in the game, and the ideological heirs and descendants of Saul Alinsky and Antonio Gramsci really believe total victory is within their grasp, and that, for them, this is the end game.

There's a lot of work to be done, but his election next Tuesday could prove to be a good start.

The new people coming in must have the backbone and vision of our Founders, for these are indeed the times that try men's souls. We don't have many chances left before the unthinkable option is the only one left.

Therefore, next Tuesday must be viewed only as a starting point. While gridlock is assured, we only have 2 years to make sure the movement stays and flourishes, and that every day must be a day of education for the American people against the depredations of Leviathan.

In other words, we must continually face and overcome the incessant propaganda efforts of the media, the educational establishment, and Leviathan itself, and we must do so without losing heart for even one second.

We must not lose sight of the fact we are fighting for the soul of a nation, as well as our and our posterity's future, and we must continually remind the citizenry of this as well.

The message should be loud and clear: If you vote Democrat (i.e., Communist), things are only going to get worse. Understand? THINGS ARE ONLY GOING TO GET WORSE! and this fact is demonstrably provable.

May God bless and protect this Republic!
