Newsletters published by the Chicago chapter of the Democratic Socialists of America show President Barack Obama actively participated in a 1996 rally co-sponsored by the group and held at The University of Chicago during his first campaign for the Illinois state Senate.
The president’s defenders, including Obama himself, have sought to deflect questions about his socialist connections and dismiss them as partisan hyperbole or as guilt by association ̶ regarding his connections with William Ayers, Bernardine Dohrn, and Frank Marshall Davis. But an article in the March-April 2000 edition of the Chicago DSA’s newsletter, The New Ground, detailing its recommendations for the March 2000 Democratic primaries suggests the group considered Obama one of its own.

A: Eleven: John Conyers [Chairman of the Judiciary Committee], Tammy Baldwin, Jerrold Nadler, Luis Gutierrez, Melvin Watt, Maxine Waters, Hank Johnson, Steve Cohen, Barbara Lee, Robert Wexler, Linda Sanchez [there are 23 Democrats on the Judiciary Committee of which eleven, almost half, are now members of the DSA].
Anybody who’s ever read Baraq’s one available published document from the Columbia Univ magazine in the early 80s would understand his disdain for Reagan and love for the Soviet Union.
Unfortunately the MSM were far more worried about the status of Joe the plumber Wurzelbacher’s trade license in Ohio.

When he ran for the first time in Illinois, for State Senate, he ran for “The New Party”. New what, you say? New Socialists.
I discovered that when I first researched him. People didn’t seem to want to believe it. Don’t know if it’s been scrubbed as has so much about him.
“Q: How many members of the U.S. Congress are also members of the DSA?
A: Seventy!”
This just illustrates the pervasive rot in the Democratic party. Even those Democrats who aren’t dyed in the wool Marxists have to cater to the significant percentage who are, or they can’t get elected. The American public need to be educated as to the dangers of this ideology, and the scumbags who ascribe to it need to be exposed and ostracized, so they can never hold a position of influence in public life again.

Yeah, pretty much every mention of him and the New Party that was on the web was scrubbed right after it began to be publicized. Luckily, some canny FReepers saved screenshots so we’ve got the evidence for all time :)
