Maher reminds me of the first verse of the T.S. Eliot poem, The Hollow Men.
We are the hollow men
We are the stuffed men

If Maher and his audience didn't feel a great threat to their nihilism from Yeshua, there attitude toward Christianity would be one of indifference.
Instead, it is venomous and insulting.
Long story short, the Truth gets under their skin precisely because it is the Truth.

It could also be said the O’Reilly made a fool of himself. His statements that the Bible is basically a book of metaphors and symbolisms speaks to his understanding of the book.

So what does Maher say about Muslims? I am hoping that someone will dig up something he has said about that religion which will result in a death threat and put him in hiding and we won’t have to hear from him anymore.

When Mr Maher is on his deathbed, he will ask for a priest, minister or rabbi.....you know .....just to be safe.

I don’t understand why O’Reilly gives time to the likes of Al Sharpton, Bill Maher and that so-called “Professor Hill” (the huge Obama-file, white racist)....these people are so alienated and fringe...why give this crowd equal time like they have anything legitimate to say?

The author, Dr. Francis Collins, qualifies as ‘one of the smartest guys on the planet.’ Multiple PhDs in subjects most of us struggled to pass; he LED the human genome project as an atheist or at best agnostic with an open mind. Strict fundamentalists will not like everything he writes, but he does indeed, using the scientific method, present the hypothesis that there IS a God, that Christ is real, and here is the pretty much indisputable physical and mathematical evidence in the human genome— in logical allele-based support of the opening hypotheses.
If you are not based in the life sciences, it’s a challenging read. But the point remains the same — that a brilliant atheist discovered powerful evidence for God, not by revelation on a road in Syria, but in the lab and the massively parallel world of informatics.
Tell me Dr. Francis Collins is stupid, Bill. Go ahead.
As much as I enjoy it when he makes a fool of himself, it was SO pathetic I couldn't take it.
May God bless him so deeply, move him so strongly, that he becomes overwhelmed with a yearning to learn more about our Father who has unending, and unconditional love. God bless you, Bill. Whatever has hardened your heart, whatever experience of lack of experience crushed your spirit, I stand against in in the name of Jesus Christ and pray that your ears and eyes are opened. Your life is precious to our Father.

Maher likes insulting the little people
These unfunny "comedians" make no effort to conceal their contempt for O'Reilly, but they're canny enough to accept his invitations to appear in order to keep their own unattractive faces and sick careers before a large viewing audience. It's just another career move for them.
O'R is SO egotistical he invites them because he thinks he can beat ANYONE in a debate. However, the way his interviews are structured, he can "win" every time because his overbearing, dismissive, "authoritive" pronouncements inserted at will almost guarantee a "win".
Remember, he who controls the gavel wins the debate....and O'Reilly knows how to wield it in a most experienced, clever way.
Actually, in the long run, it makes no difference who "wins" or "loses" these show biz "debates".....it's how each of the fetid foursome plays his own game to promote himself to the max and, as a bonus, pollute the minds of the populace with their own agendas at the same time.

Agreed. Like all anti-Christian bigots (I won't insult the non-Christians here by lumping them in with likes of Bill Maher), they are all loud and obnoxious when it comes to attacking Christianity but they will either never trash talk islam or offer only minor, token attacks against it.
