THE FRAUD OF AFFIRMATIVE ACTION( VANITY)

Posted on 09/26/2010 6:15:42 PM PDT by hecht

For those old enough to remember, affirmative action was sold to us as a way to make up for past discrimination. Perhaps , if you accept the premise, this was a laudatory goal. African Americans were (largely) involuntary immigrants who experienced slavery and Jim Crow. However in the age of diversity, African immigrants from nations like Ghana benefit from affirmative action despite not only never being a victim here but also from the fact that their ancestors were the ones responsible for slavery in the first place.

Hispanics are a totally different issue. Prior to the days of Carter, most hispanics were classified as "white". This makes sense since the hispanics that became Americans after 1848 were largely Spanish settlers of gallo-roman-visigoth stock. (think Zorro). However since the Democrats wanted to create a dependant ethnicity they created the "hispanic race"

Unfortunately , there is neither a hispanic race nor a "long history of discrimination". Most people who are hispanic are recent immigrants. Moreover, there is no acceptable definition of who is hispanic. In fact the US department of Labor encourages self-identification, and prohibits employers et al from questioning any such self -identification.

In the community I live in , there is a family whose father was temporarily transferred to Mexico for a few years. They ( like myself are of eastern european Jewish stock). Their first child was born there. Of course we all know that Mexico is not stupid enough to give "birthright citizenship". The family soon returned to the states and had two more children.

When the Mexican born son ( no he was not darker or more Mexican looking than his younger siblings) applied for college, he put down "hispanic" as his ethnicity and to his high schools surprise was accepted to a prestigious University in St. Louis. Somehow his parents deemed it appropriate to put down "hispanic" for their second and third child. The middle child even received an award for being one of the" top 500 hispanic high school seniors!" Of course they got into better schools than similar students who put down "white" on their applications.

Another family has a mother whose grandparents missed the boat to Ellis Island and ended up in Central America ( they did well and had many a mestizo servant) Their granddaughter with a yiddish last name, doesn't have high cheekbones, a wide nose, dark skin or flattened eyelids like native Mayans. In fact she looks like her Eastern European grandparents. German and Irish immigrants to Central America look-like Germans and Irish!!!.

The Granddaughter , who happened to be born in the US, and married another eastern european Jew, decided her kids would register as -you guessed it-Hispanic!!!!.

Now if her grandparents were Spanish speaking Sephardic Jews from Salonika maybe she would have a point. However, like in the movie "Soul Man" they pushed the envelope. When the same school in St. Louis wanted more minorities, they -free of charge- brought planeful of prospective minorities to see the school- including an eastern european claiming to be "hispanic"!!!! "Animal House" fans -remember the 'Dexter Lake Club"?Of course he ended up going there. I wonder if they put him the the minority dorm?

Anyone remember Ward Churchill?

Colorblind, based on character... both sold down the river of political correctness and to those that profit from the division. America will never be truly free until these liberal hypocrites of the left leave the scene.

It’s a lot more than a huge fraud…

Americans being punished for Blood Crimes; of which 95% were not a party to!

Amazing how the supposed ‘affirmative action quickly became another form of discrimination’ to make certain groups have class distinction and social control; for it has never been about the quality and content of one’s character. And don’t forget what they called Bakke V. University of California as part of the con-job.

Anyone think our first negro President isn’t an Affirmative Action hire?

I know the family of a young man who applied to a prestigious state university here on the east coast. The fellow is white as snow but just for poops and giggles he checked the box indicating “African American” on his application materials. He did this on a whim and didn’t tell anyone. To the drop-jawed astonishment of everybody, the young man was accepted to this university.

“Wow,” people exclaimed, “That’s a really tough place to get into!”

When his father started getting puzzling mail from various black fraternities and the black student union and a support organization for the parents of African American students, the young man fessed up and “changed his mind” about attending that particular university. And this was AFTER going to orientation. Who knows if the university would have ever caught on? I seriously doubt it.

The lesson here is to always check the box that says “African American” so that you get preferred status.

As it stands today, I am a proud member of the only subgroup that has not been authorized to receive preferential treatment under the affirmative action farce.

Still standing tall.

I think the one we need to remember in this is Ward Connerly. He authored Prop 209 that did away with affirmative action in Ca and has been very active in many other states in their push for actual equality.
