Following up on his promise to transcend race, President Obama visited with black leaders on Saturday and implored them to help "guard the change".

Obama urges blacks to vote and "guard the change"
"I need everybody here to go back to your neighborhoods, and your workplaces, to your churches, and barbershops, and beauty shops. Tell them we have more work to do. Tell them we can't wait to organize. Tell them that the time for action is now," he told the Congressional Black Caucus. The words of America's first black president showed a deliberate effort to recapture the enthusiasm that had helped him win the White House in 2008, after polls showed African-Americans much less likely to vote than whites this year.
Who's not running in this election year? Oh yeah, Obama. What is running? His policies.
Republicans could make

And here in North Florida, of the cars I see still with Obama decals on them, the majority are white people driving them. Looks like he may be lsing the “Blacks” faster than white guilt liberals/progressives. I passed one yesterday putzing along the freeway and saw the sticker. The dude looked like Santa Claus!

Letter: We will not go back to inequality or segregation
Sarah Palin, Glenn Beck and Rush Limbaugh are talking about social justice and how to restore traditional American values, restoring America s honor. This is a code word for returning certain groups of Americans, especially African-Americans, back to slavery, Jim Crow, reconstruction and segregation. This appeals to a fringe group of the Tea Party movement and uninformed, ignorant segment of the population. They do not represent the majority of rational mainstream Americans.
We will not go back, as Martin Luther King Jr. said. We got caught up in his vision spiritually in our spirits and souls. We have been to the mountain top and looked over and seen the promised land of America. No more inequality or equal but unequal, where liberty, freedom and the pursuit of happiness is achieved for all.
So to you naysayers with your deceptive, polarizing rhetoric; we have already overcome. You cant stop us now or take us back. We know what the real deal is with confidence, what social justice is all about for working people. Yes we can!

Yep, I’d say the only vote for Obama is from people who do not have to live in the real world. I did some volunteering in Bethesda, MD in the dem primaries. Truly amazing, the voter turnout was ridiculously low and the only (democrat, remember) people who showed up to vote were retirees and publik skool teachers.
Only a primary but I submit this does not augur well for the dems. Our black brothers and sisters and the kollege krowd may prefer to die rather than admit their disappointment with the One but there is no way they’re going to turn out for him.
It’s funny to hear Obama’s falling back on his soaring community organizer rhetoric. His problem is that he’s never had to sit at the desk where the buck stops. Executive responsibility is anathema to him. He still thinks he only has to make a speech every no and then and problems will be magically solved.
The article pointed out that his real base in ‘08 was white independent voters. I remember meeting some of my Dad’s friends and being struck by their bizarre assurance that Obama stood for them. They must be furious that he refused to grant them absolution from their decades of White Guilt.
It’s the same way here. Although, many of the white guilty I’m seeing look more like Phil Spector.
"RACE WAR!!! RACE WAR!!! RACE WAR'S ON EVERYBODY....IT'S GOING DOWN....S--T IS GOING DOWN!!!"
“We know what the real deal is with confidence, what social justice is all about for working people. Yes we can!”
Just replace “social justice” with “Communism”.
Mr. Skittles hasn’t delivered on his implied,
or more accurately, inferred,
promise of a “big check”
and black people “gettin’ paid”.
They’ve lost their enthusiasm to vote.
Just because you’re paranoid, doesn’t mean a Race War’s not out to get you!
So using that logic, since we now have a black president, we can never have another white one because we’d be going back. What about all those libs wanting to go back to the heyday of the 90’s? And enough with the cries of racism.
I wonder, if whether or not blacks fully understand the implications of a race war. The change they are so insanely guarding is impractial and irrational. There is no way that it’s sustainable and the rest of the country doesn’t want to get dragged down into their fantasyland that is a total nightmare. The rest of the country’s races don’t want to live in a black power dominated world and spend their lives working like fiends to support their idle arses. Asians didn’t come here to do that. hispanics don’t come here to do that and the whites don’t want to do it anymore.
