So let me see if I understand you.

The PROSECUTION threatens physical violence...

...and your first thought is the DEFENSE is pulling a publicity stunt.

That may well be the most despicable thing I have ever read on FR.

Oh, come on. The defense is using LTC Lakin and he is going to pay the price, not his pompous civilian defense attorney. They want a spectacle and they are willing to sacrifice his career to get it. Defense is not interested in Lakin, he is just their useful idiot. This entire case has never been anything but a stunt.

Err, no. Some off brand webpage claims that the prosecution made a statement that could be a threat, or a bad joke. I doubt very much anything like this occurred, and if it did, its the best news LTC Lakin has had in the past six months. Because a reversal of his (imminent) conviction, for prosecutorial misconduct, is the best chance he has of retiring with some kind of pension.
