Women with breast cancer are the first to be sacrificed at the alter of rationing
You made up your own title and did not even post the article.
What’s up with that?
The real name is not Obama Care, it is obama wink, wink care
Let me be the first to say . . . “altar”
And then posted it to breaking news.
SO?
There’s a link to the article - what’s the problem?
This person has been waiting since his sign up day of February 3, 2010 to post THIS?
This article sounds like it was written by somebody with a financial interest in Avastin. Drugs status is changed all the time by the FDA. Even the article mentioned it may not be the best drug.
I don’t see the connection to Obama Care.
I wouldn't like to be sacrificed on that without a paddle.
Learn the posting rules
1) ORIGINAL EXACT TITLE
2) link to article
3) CONTENTS of article (or at least an exerpt of the first paragrapsh
4) comment on your reason or opinion for the posting of this article
it is a good one:
“In September, the Food and Drug Administration will try to take the anti-cancer drug Avastin off-label. Avastin is a Stage 4 drug used to battle breast cancer. Avastin is not a cure but has been shown to stop the growth of cancer for an average of five months meaning some late stage breast cancer victims live beyond five months.
But late stage breast cancer patients do not fit into the cost-benefit analysis of the Obama Administration. We told America rationing would happen if the health care takeover bill passed and in September, women with breast cancer will be its first victims.”
First of all, FR rules require the actual title be used.
Secondly, most everybody else here post at least an excerpt of the article.
Have you not noticed that?
ObamaCare: The Rationing Begins in Earnest
by Capitol Confidential
The ink is not yet dry on the Obama Health Care takeover and rationing advocate Donald Berkwick has yet to have his desk moved into the Medicare offices, and the Administration is already attempting to limit life-extending drugs for cancer patients.
This is the first shot in the health care revolution.

Avastin is the first medicine to fight cancer by blocking the growth of blood vessels that feed tumors. While Avastin is expensive and may not be the miracle drug some anticipated for breast cancer (it is for other types of cancer) from the success of the early trials, the overwhelming majority of breast cancer specialists believe the drug can be effective and useful in certain patients
I have a relative with cancer who was given 6 months to live in 11/07.
With Avastin, she is still with us and enjoying life.
Obama and the Dems would kill her. We’re all voting GOP this November.
Say no to life/health rationing.
Avastin works. It has kept one of my relatives alive much longer, per her oncologist.
Correct.
But I'll do one even better.... Instead of posting an excerpt that includes only the first paragraph which often doesn't tell you anything, pick a paragraph with some "meat" in it....something with a little bit of "who, what, where, why and when."
Just a little pet peeve of mine.
There’s more
“How do you put a price tag on those precious months for the families who are living through the hell of losing a Mother, Sister, Daughter, Aunt or Wife? Taking Avastin off label is nothing more then government rationing of healthcare. Period.
Americans with cancer live much longer than similar victims in other nations. Traditionally the FDA has not based its decisions on the cost of drug or biologic treatment, but solely on the effectiveness of the treatment. This approach seems to be changing as Obamacare is being implemented and the rationing of healthcare soon begins.
If you knew you could take a drug and perhaps live another year, would you take it? The government will now be making that decision for you.”
Don’t get me wrong. I don’t think how the FDA approves drugs is right at all. But they have done this before and I haven’t seen any evidence this decision has anything at all to do with the new medical legislation just passed.
Agreed. Can we please keep arguments focused and relevant. These types of Herculean leaps to make a connection are embarrassing, and surely fodder for the DUmmies.
