In January of 2009 four-term US Senator Kit Bond (R-Missouri) announced he would not seek re-election in November, 2010. That made the Show Me State one of five with open seats Republicans will most likely need to hold if they want to take control of the Senate. Carnahan (D)
Blunt (R)
Carnahan (D)
What ticked me off the most was that Ashcroft stopped campaigning and the carnahan campaign kept airing smear ads on Ashcroft. And even then, they only won because of the polls in STL being kept open until all hours.
That sad, Blunt will win the nomination, but this one of my top 3 less then enthused about candidates.
