There were good reasons the founders sought to limit the powers of the government:
A. Good men will not always win every election.
B.Power tempts even good men.
C.Absolute power will be mis-used.
Polls at FR indicate that such power as the kill switch implies would not be endorsed by Freepers ... for any president.
The government doesn’t need a kill switch, which is probably why I couldn’t find anything remotely like a “kill switch” when I read the bill. I could be wrong, but so far nobody’s been able to show me that kill switch provision in the bill.
Bullshit. Were 90% of FReepers on board for Bush "immigration reform"? For his rationale for signing McCain-Feingold? Hell no.
Maybe time to rethink that ham radio license.
Another abuse of power was the 2007 John Warner Defense Act. If FReepers spoke out and condemed it, I don't recall. I was lurking back then. If they did, good for them. I'm sure there was alot of FReepers concerned by that power grab.
It gave the President control over the National Guard[Hello State's Power?] and allowed the use of Armed Force to be imployed over some very liberal reasons: 'incident' ??? etc.

Patriot Act?
