99% of these anchor babies are conceived to make the illegal alien parents eligible to receive government freebies for the “family”. Period. “American” has nothing to do with it. It’s about free money and healthcare.

In some cases, a couple of generations have passed. Their children, born here, aren’t citizens?? Of course they are.

The rules with regard to “anchor babies” need to be revised. It might have worked back in the day when most everyone came through Ellis Island. Doesn’t work so well nowadays.

Take a minute to consider the reason the whole “anchor baby” problem exists. It started as a way to ensure citizenship for children of recently emancipated slaves. The children of men and women who had suffered, alongside their families and friends, the scourge of slavery. It was a way to protect them and ensure that upon their freedom they would not be cast aside and ignored because they were strangers in a strange land. It was meant to mend the wounds and protect their futures.

And now look at it. What was once a good and noble thing is being used to take away from the descendants of those men and women who toiled beneath the crack of the whip and suffered the whim of slavery’s cruel masters. People who HAVE a country are fleeing its corruption and danger, bringing their troubles into our homes, and taking advantage of the Amendment meant to protect the rights of those who would have had nothing.

And it’s sad to say, but black Americans are GIVING away their legacy when they support the invasion of illegals.

But then, many don’t care about history or facts. Most of them wouldn’t sag their pants if they knew where that came from. If THAT slips by, why would they care about the anchor baby problem?

Maybe in a perfect world where we could trust our elected reps to do the right thing it would be rational to amend the contitution to accomplish this. I’m skeptical, however, that if we remove the establishment of citizenship by being born here, a runaway congress and executive might twist it and use it against whomever they want.

I think a rational immigration policy that is elastic enough to accomidate our needs would solve the largest part of our problems without giving rise to consequences we can only imagine. When we have a free for all on the southern border all of the other consequnces from that are offensive but I think it’s very important that we solve the right problems without creating new ones.
