Hypocrisy: McCain website prominently contains lengthy info on how to receive government grants
Intellectual Conservative ^ | 24 June 2010 | Rachel Alexander

The McCain campaign has been brutally attacking JD Hayworth for appearing in an informercial on how to apply for government grants. Hypocritically, McCain's own Senate website (http://mccain.senate.gov/public/index.cfm?FuseAction=ConstituentServices.FederalGrantFunding) prominently features a lengthy list of government grants to apply for. It is disturbing that due to the $5 million war chest the McCain campaign already had when it came into the Senate race, plus threatening people away who dare to support Hayworth, that the McCain campaign has been able to divert attention in the race to the 1% difference Hayworth shares with Senator Jim DeMint, the most conservative member in all of Congress. JD Hayworth has a 98% lifetime rating from the American Conservative Union over his 12 years in Congress. Whereas the real story is that McCain has an 81% rating which sank to an alltime low of 63% in 2008. JD Hayworth has a higher lifetime rating than around 97% of all members of Congress – yet McCain has been able to divert attention to the 1% part of Hayworth that is not as conservative as DeMint, deflecting attention from the real story – McCain's terrible record. McCain is no conservative, and as Mark Levin pointed out in this article in National Review (http://article.nationalreview.com/343264/the-real-mccain-record/mark-r-levin), he isn't even good on earmarks or spending. Not only did McCain vote for several of the billion dollar bailouts and co-sponsor Cap and Trade legislation, but he regularly earmarks defense jobs for Arizona. Unfortunately, McCain has been able to get several conservative publications to buttress his attacks on Hayworth over the government grant infomercial. Let's hope they apply some fairness and cover McCain's own promotion of free grant money too. Especially if it magically disappears off his site within the next few days. In that case, we've saved copies here.

UPDATE: One day later, after this article appeared, McCain has hidden the link to government grant information from his website by hiding it behind a YouTube (http://www.icarizona.com/2010/06/mccain-hypocritically-deletes-free.html) video (which you can see in only some browsers). What a hypocrite.

The irony is so thick you could wall up the entire border with it. For everything McCain (usually falsely) accuses Hayworth of, he's done 10 times worse.

John McCain has a long time, well known GAMBLING problem! His support and $ come from questionable people with questionable ties.

Mafia ties:

In 1995, McCain sent birthday regards, and regrets for not attending, to Joseph "Joe Bananas" Bonano, the head of the New York Bonano crime family, who had retired to Arizona. Another politician to send regrets was Governor Fife Symington, who has since been kicked out of office and convicted of 7 felonies relating to fraud and extortion.

McCain's mafia ties go back further than that ... all the way back to Cindy McCain's mafia connected dad, who launched McCain's career and put him on the nipple of Charles Keating and friends. Cindy's dad took the fall for the mafia over illegal liqour distribution charges and was rewarded with a beer distributorship when he got out of the clink. Cindy's dad also helped the mob do some dirty business in the New Mexico horse racing market back in the day.

Why did McCain celebrate his birthday on a Mobster's Yacht?

The photograph substantiates reports that in late August, 2006, McCain celebrated his 70th birthday aboard a yacht, the Celine Ashley, rented by A-list con man Raffaello Follieri and his then-movie star girlfriend Anne Hathaway.

Follieri, who posed as Vatican chief financial officer in order to win friends and investments, pleaded guilty Wednesday in a Manhattan district court to conspiracy to commit wire fraud, eight counts of wire fraud and five counts of money laundering.

It is the fault of congress critters who vote for this stuff . Once it is out , it is like any scarce resource , like a scrap of meat to a hungry she wolf . It is the economic animal's nature to capture, control, consume it and feed it to her cubs .

"The photograph substantiates reports that in late August, 2006, McCain celebrated his 70th birthday aboard a yacht, the Celine Ashley, rented by A-list con man Raffaello Follieri and his then-movie star girlfriend Anne Hathaway. "

First, Follieri wasn't nor isn't a mobster. He was and is a conman. Period. Just because he has an Italian name, doesn't mean he's connected to organized crime.

Follieri, a contributor to Hilary Clinton and a close personal friend and business partner of Steven Bing, threw a 70th birthday party for John McCain? That doesn't seem very likely, at all. Of course, coming from the "The Nation" magazine, the liberal rag of liberal rags, it doesn't seem very believable either.

If anything, this looks like a MSM hit-piece on the then Republican Presidential nominee.

McCain has his problems, but associating with "mobsters" isn't one of them. Character assassination is best left to the liberals. Principled opposition to policy is what conservatives should advocate, not guilt by association.

“McCain has his problems, but associating with “mobsters” isn’t one of them. “

Yes, it most certainly is one of his problems. There is no excuse for this old fool. He got in office with mobsters and stays in office because of them...and useful idiots who make excuses for him.

"Yes, it most certainly is one of his problems"

Follieri isn't a mobster. It's a shame that the talking points used by the liberal media in 2008 to assassinate McCain's character are being used by people who describe themselves as conservative. So much for Reagan's golden rule.

There are plenty of substantive policy differences with John McCain to make a compelling case for his defeat. Repeating insane leftist conspiracy theories isn't becoming of conservatives, nor should it be necessary to unseat John McCain.

Read that entire post...it wasn’t just about Follieri. And there is TONS more for anyone who cares what John McCain really is.

Yes, I read the entire post...

NY Times
HuffPo
Newsweek
RealChange

You've cited examples from a who's who of crazy leftist media outlets.

But, if you're so convinced that John McCain is a dirty, thieving, corrupt mobster, I'm sure you'll have no problems pulling the lever for the Democrat if McCain prevails in the primary.

Reagan didn't say, "Thou shall not speak ill of your fellow Republican", because he thought it had a nice ring. He said it because he was smart enough to understand that personal primary attacks on the GOP front-runner will always come to haunt them in the general.

Please Arizona voters, make McCain go away. The man took his best political shot, and lost to an anti-American incompetent. The only reason he wants to remain in the Senate is to foil anything the Republicans hope to achieve. Retire him.

Facts are facts, no matter what the ‘source’. Wake up.

As for your Reagan mantra...McCain is Guilty! NO one can honestly defend this old bastard.

McCain actually said this just a few weeks ago.

“President Reagan granted amnesty to two million people and that was wrong,” McCain said.

"Facts are facts, no matter what the ‘source’. Wake up."

So, then Sarah Palin is the mother of Bristol Palin's baby? That was a "fact" reported by HuffPo, after-all.

You may think that facts reported by liberal media outlets are just that, "facts". I don't.

And, it's BIG difference between criticizing someone's policy positions and calling them a "mobster". I'm sorry you can't see the distinction.
