Eye on Key Primaries That Could Signal Major Shift in November

...the electorate is in a unique mood. Haley is viewed as the ultimate anti-good-ole-boys candidate, the outsider who shares the values of the Tea Party.

Unfortunately, unsubstantiated and unproven charges of marital infidelity hit the campaign like a ton of bricks in the waning days of the race. One source of the charges in particular could not prove his allegations, despite his insistence he had 'documentation.' That proved to be false.

The other accuser worked for the Bauer campaign. He has no proof except his own statement that he had 'an inappropriate physical relationship' with Haley at some point in the past. Haley has denied both charges and stated that if elected, if anyone could prove she lied about her faithfulness in marriage she would resign from the governorship.

These allegations appear to be nothing more than dirty politics, and it has backfired on those responsible. Haley has increased her lead over the others in the field and now enjoys a 44% advantage in the GOP primary. She will more than likely face either McMaster or Barrett in a runoff.

Turning to the other side of the South--from the Southeast to the Southwest--the Arizona primary is huge. J.D. Hayworth is challenging Senator John McCain for the GOP nomination for the U.S. Senate. Hayworth has forced McCain to run a conservative campaign, and frankly, many of his statements have been curiously novel for the veteran Senator, who has often angered conservatives over illegal aliens, gun rights, cap-and-trade, and a host of other issues.

It would appear that McCain is giving lip-service to conservative hot-button issues in order to get re-elected. A Hayworth upset would send a dramatic signal to incumbents everywhere.

I suspect that the primaries are going to seem like Christmas in June to many Conservatives. More than a few incumbents won’t even make it past them. The thing to watch for then is the “nothing left to lose” feeling that they will have. They will start voting their true colors for the next 4 months, since they don’t need to worry about what the electorate thinks. You’ll see a lot more “bipartisanship” on votes as all the RINOs lurch wildly to the left to punish us for daring to hold them accountable. You’ll also see a lot of legislation suddenly come forward and be voted through, as all the vulnerable Dems, who see the writing on the wall and the virtually unbeatable opponent waiting in November, rush their pet projects through.

“...the electorate is in a unique mood.”

Yes we are in a lynch-mob mentality.
