'Brownie': Obama Wanted Spill to Spread

The last time we heard from FEMA director Michael Brown, he was predicting that the Colts would defeat the Saints in the Super Bowl. Now in an interview on Fox News with Neil Cavuto, he's taking aim at President Barack Obama and saying a slow response by the federal government is "pure politics."

The head of FEMA during Hurricane Katrina who became famous after former President George Bush lauded his performance ("Heck of a job, Brownie"), Brown said by delaying the federal response, it's giving Obama a chance to shut down the oil industry that he said he never supported.

The Huffington Post didn't have a transcript, so here's one that we put together:

Brown: "The Coast Guard shows up immediately. In Katrina, FEMA showed up immediately. The president is off in San Diego strumming a guitar, Obama is east going to the White House correspondent dinner. You're now nine days into the storm, into the disaster, and actually now, only now is the president appearing to be engaged. And I think the delay was this: it's pure politics. This president has never supported big oil. He's never supported offshore drilling. And now he has an excuse to shut it back down.

"You've already heard Bill Nelson, senator from Florida, saying offshore drilling is DOA. They played politics with this crisis and left the Coast Guard out there doing what they're supposed to do."

Cavuto: "So Michael, you don't take him at face value when he says a temporary halt in drilling is just that -- a temporary halt."

Brown: "No, no. Look Bill Nelson -- and you know, they don't say these things without it being coordinated -- and so now you're looking at this oil slick approaching the Louisiana shore, according to certain NOAA and other places, if the winds are right it'll go up the east coast. This is exactly what they want. Because now he can pander to the environmentalists and say, 'I'm going to shut it down because it's too dangerous.' While Mexico and China and everybody else drills in the gulf, we're going to get shut down."

Watch the interview, and when you're done, let us know what you think in the comments below.

Here are a few more links of what the rest of the world is saying about the oil spill:

- British Petroleum can say goodbye to its image as the "greenest of oil giants," according to Foreign Policy Magazine. It cites how as early as 2007, it was voted in a costumer survey as being the most environmentally friendly of the major oil companies. "The spill has wiped out years of ad spending for the company -- but it has also highlighted how disingenuous much of that advertising was," writes Kate Sheppard.

- Gov. Rick Perry says the oil spill may be "an act of God" and condemned efforts to stop drilling for oil in the Gulf of Mexico. Perry, while speaking at the Chamber of Commerce in Washington: “From time to time there are going to be things that occur that are acts of God that cannot be prevented."

- The Huffington Post is linking to a "goofy and upbeat" video by Transocean, the operator of the Deepwater Horizon, promoting safety onboard the rig. Apparently shot and released in Summer 2009 and featuring video of some of the oil workers on the Deepwater Horizon, it's rather eerie to watch considering the explosion two weeks ago.

- The New York Times said while there is still certainly reason to be concerned, it's not time yet to put it among the worst oil accidents in history. They say it's too early to tell, and experts are optimistic that it won't be as bad as some are expecting.

Sounds to me that Brown is on to something, hence the pushback from the ChiThugs.

We all knew this to be true. That Brown has the guts to say out loud what we all knew will put him squarely in the crosshairs of this regime.

Let’s see how long it takes for him to get destroyed....3....2...1..........

This regime does not like the truth. I don’t know how much more they can vilify Brown. They did a great job after Katrina.

Carl Rove played that video on Greta one time.

GWB was down there meeting with all the officials, when the cameras came on he read a list of the men that were standing there...thanking each one individually down the line.

“Brownie” just happened to be in that line.

Hence the MSM had their propaganda shot.

Had just watched the video (http://www.breitbart.tv/white-house-lays-into-fox-news-reporter-over-guests-comments/) of ASS-CLOWN, "Baghdad" Bob Gibbs, who had laid into Fox News Wendell Goler and then watched the actual interview of Brown with Cavuto (http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2010/05/03/michael-brown-obama-wante_n_562004.html) and what I learned (though not surprise) is that Gibbs is AS BIG A PHONY, LYING, BOTTOM-FEEDING, POS, AS IS HIS BOSS, DEAR LEADER

During the press conference, Gibbs states, categorically that Brown accused the O'Bozzo administration of BEING RESPONSIBLE for the leak when Brown NEVER said any such thing.

Brown suggested that the FASCIST, Community Agitator took his sweet time responding for political purposes, but never even hinted that this was a deliberate act of sabotage, much less anyone's fault.

THESE PEOPLE ARE BEYOND DESPICABLE!!!

Conspiracy theories aside, has any government agency explained what caused the drilling platform to explode in the first place?

I really do think it was an accident. Mark Levin interviewed a man that was on the platform. I will see if I can find a link....

I have no evidence of anything, but this whole situation sure looks orchestrated to kill oil drilling and it wouldn’t surprise me if it was sabotaged on purpose.

Fully agree and further: I believe the slow response was purposeful so the Obama administration could prevent any more off shore drilling.

When I first heard that Obama had a plan for offshore drilling, my first thought was “that dog won’t hunt”, second was what kind of game is he going to play with this to kill drilling for good?

>..it wouldn’t surprise me if it was sabotaged on purpose.<

As I mentioned in a separate thread, I was speaking with the VP of our mineral club over the weekend. He’s frequently sent somewhere in So Cal to work on nuke subs. He knows minerals of every sort and has been in this field for decades. He’s been called to go work on this mess. Even at a dollar a minute (sounds like low pay for his expertise) he’s not sure if he’ll deal with it (the red tape). Quizzing him further about this event, I’ll quote: “they don’t happen like this”

I’ll take what he says before I’ll believe some talking head in the media.

Amazing the lack of national attention on the flooding in TN. Prayers for all....
