Riot Police and Snipers Called Out to Defend Quincy, IL Convention Center Against Geriatric Tea Party Protesters
There continues to be a common theme developing with respect to the reality that is the Tea Party movement and the opposition to it by this Obama administration. The movement is mostly made up of conservative Christians with a predominantly older demographic. The protests that began taking place in April of 2009 have been extremely peaceful with no arrests. Protests have continued all across America with untold numbers of people participating.

I haven’t followed the story that closely but given the politically charged climate and risk of violent leftists and/or jihadists showing up to a Tea Party, the security precautions may have been prudent albeit chilling.

The man is considerably angrier than most folks realize, and I think there is a small chance that he is a Muslim.

The flip side of not having SWAT teams present at a Tea Party is that should violent leftists and/or jihadists show up and start shooting, Monday morning quarterbacking being what is will demand to know why SWAT teams hadn't been in place.
There is a video that shows the snipers, black helicopters, and procession of black suv’s, on the thread Army Preps for T Party Terrorists.
The stills I saw at Gateway Pundit showed rooftop police in riot gear without face shields and helmets but armed with sidearms and using binoculars to monitor the activities on the ground.
Seriously, these Tea Party Patriots were all older folks, senior citizens for sure. Some of them had to be helped to walk. A real threat to the _resident and Chewbacca...

Sometimes a patient writes a letter that the various agencies feel must be followed up. She said that most aren't too intimidating, except for the Secret Service dudes.
The Secret Service(SS) has an obligation to protect the President even to take a bullet for him. They do not want an assassination on their watch and are very focused without any apparent humor on their task.
They know that one lone looney in a crowd of otherwise peaceful granny's and grandpa's could succeed. They are paid to assume the worst, and protect the president.
And just remember, the 60’s radicals are now grannys and grandpas. We do not know how many are unrepentant, and still dedicated to their cause.
From what I read yesterday, the SS insisted on calling in the police, and move the people across the street from the building where the President was speaking, and onto the sidewalk.
The most radical of the left wingers are upset with Obama’s policy's,(too slow, and not radical enough) and they are the ones who would be likely to assassinate him, and to blame it on the T parties would be a big bonus for them.
From the viewpoint of the SS, any large crowd, who has not been vetted, is a threat no matter how peaceful they may appear.
Their vigilance is also a protection for the T Party in a way, because if an infiltrator can't accomplish anything, then the T Parties can't be blamed.
I don't want to see US cities burn, and I do think there could be massive riots if anything happened to Obama. So while it looks like overkill to me, from the SS point of view, it is a necessary precaution.
Like one of the T party guys said on the sharp video, Yeh, but I wouldn't argue with them.
Let me haul out the "new saw" - what if Bush did this? The wrath and indignation from the left would be deafening.
Look at the activities and outcomes from the "protests" in Arizona from people who opposed respecting the laws of the land in the USA. Did we see a preemptive SWAT deployment to protect the public from La Raza mobsters?
Yes, they would-they are pathetic, and the media treatment is unfair. We just have to suck it up and deal with it.
Just realize that the anger and civil unrest focused on Obama is more intense than anything I have seen in my lifetime, which includes the civil rights era protests and riots, along with the Jimmy Carter disgust. Judging by this criteria alone, Obama needs protection more than JFK needed protection.

No, but you have to wonder why they didn't deploy to protect the police. LOL. Seriously, though, no one ever gets the same amount of protection as the President, even if he is a #####__________ fill in your own description.
