ObamaCare: Insurers Need Permission to Survive; Citizens, to Live
Pajamas Media ^ | April 25 | Paul Hsieh

Suppose our government declared that everyone had the “right” to a nice steak dinner. The government would require restaurants to sell $50 steak dinners to all comers. But to keep prices affordable, restaurants could only charge $25. No restaurant could survive long under such a scheme, and most Americans would be outraged at such a blatant violation of restaurant owners’ rights.

But that is exactly what is happening with health insurance in Massachusetts.....

And if you can’t afford steak even if it costs a penny — you should get it free! This is where the logic leads. “Somebody’s got to PAY!”

Over half the country could not care care about the violations of the restaurant owner’s rights if the can get freebies and have the top 20% of taxpayers pay for it.

Why should you have to pay when it's "from each according to his ability to each according to his need."

And they say Obama isn't a Marxist...

Gee, the writer doesn’t get it. The reason some people have steak is white racist Christian homophobic men came from Europe and genocidally killed the peaceful Native Americans, filling North America with cows. It’s time for reparations - not just for slavery, but for all the imperialistic machinations of white men, which apparently includes steak. After all, minorities have been reduced to hot dogs for too long. The moment is here to “share the wealth.” According to the Southern Whiner Poverty Center, only 54 percent of people of color had a porterhouse or a T-bone steak during the past month, while whites had a 14 percent greater access to prime cuts, leaving chuck steaks and pot roast for minorities and women. Perhaps a government agency - the Commerce Department’s Meat Equity Board, for instance - can monitor styles and weights of meat so there is equality throughout the country. Speaking for myself, I’m using my Prime Rib Permit for a special occasion!

Then there's Medicare. In 1965, Part B cost $3 a month...the equivalent of 1 hour of work.

It now costs $96 a month and it doesn't come out of the money you put into it...it comes right out of your pocket....AND THEY'VE STILL GOT THE THOUSANDS YOU PUT INTO IT.

so·cial·ism    /ˈsoʊʃəˌlɪzəm/ [soh-shuh-liz-uhm]

–noun

1. a theory or system of social organization that advocates the vesting of the ownership and control of the means of production and distribution, of capital, land, etc., in the community as a whole.

2. procedure or practice in accordance with this theory.

3.(in Marxist theory) the stage following capitalism in the transition of a society to communism, characterized by the imperfect implementation of collectivist principles.

com·mu·nism    /ˈkɒmyəˌnɪzəm/ [kom-yuh-niz-uhm]

–noun

1. a theory or system of social organization based on the holding of all property in common, actual ownership being ascribed to the community as a whole or to the state.

2. (often initial capital letter) a system of social organization in which all economic and social activity is controlled by a totalitarian state dominated by a single and self-perpetuating political party.

---------------------------------------------------------

It's not quite communism yet, since Obama and Pelosi have so far "only" taken over GM/Chrysler and other heavy manufacturing; Citi, BofA, and other banking; the 1/6 of our economy that goes to medical needs and desires; and they are now grabbing our other financial institutions. Still, anyone who believes that this isn't the imperfect implementation of collectivist principles just isn't paying attention.

- - - and under the bill just passed on all of us they will force insurers to cover a person just diagnosed with a terminal disease, even though that person never bought insurance until that day.

Not to worry, restaurants will be able to afford the $30 price cut, because every American will be forced to buy at least one steak dinner at a restaurant at least once a week. It’s all good. :)
